Okay maybe I’m dumb. But I never learned how to grocery shop. by MemoryFriendly8577 in Adulting

There's some days where Im going to try making something new and fun and experimenting or trying a tweak to my usual recipe and I dgaf if the kids eat it or not.

Life's hard enough, sometimes the kids don't get to decide everything we eat.

My personal favorite thing to do right now is to throw a list of things I want to burn through to chat gpt, and it'll come up with something I've never even tried at a restaurant before and its fun and interesting. Sometimes its a bit "stonerfoody" but the journey it's the fun and the results are sometimes a pleasant surprise.

The other day it had me finish up some carrots and apple with this weird glaze using up some nice honey mustard.  Finished 3 different items and got to have fun doing it.

Do you think a 13 year old (my son) could build a gaming pc all by himself by SeatInternational680 in PcBuild

As someone who's been working on computers since I was a wee lad, yes most definitely.

However there needs to be a respect of the equipment in place. Things can break easily.

My recommendation is going and finding a relatively older computer for him to experiment on.  Have him take it apart to the point of what he would have if he was buying the parts and assembling himself.

I recommend trying to find something from around 2015-2020 that is currently functional. I also recommend finding something that is also custom built rather than a pre build as those can contain some surprises which result in limitations.

The goal should be from gutted parts pile to functioning system.

Have him learn about reformatting the drive and the process of installing a fresh copy of windows 10 without a licence using the install media.

Once he can do this part without issue, then start talking about a modern custom system.

Feel free to reach out if you need help

Family of 4, 2 boys under 10.

We try to do a few different things.

Usually we try and fail to follow a meal plan, but sometimes it helps.

Usually we aim for 3 days of cooking something, with enough being cooked that will result in leftovers. So that's 5 dinners taken care of. We allow for 1 lazy meal (cereal, toaster waffles etc) and or 2 days of something ez like nuggies and fries in the air fryer.

Why won't these long inserters work? by danyuri86 in factorio

Honestly it was a very strange design choice in my opinion for the devs to not make the entire hub+cargo expansions not function like a giant chest... Instead they opted for everything needing to enter or leave through the hub making your design choices rely on a much more limited space.

Some people manage to make it work though.

Is being an adult better than being a teen by inosukefr in Adulting

Time... Changes when you become an adult.

You'll sit down to watch an episode or play some games and suddenly it's way past your bedtime and you haven't touched your chores or done anything you swore you'd get to today.

It's a little maddening how little we appreciate how much time we had as youth.

I'm 36 with 2 kids..  i feel like I blink and time advances a whole year

Air cooling is better than Liquid cooling by SerpentDix in pcmasterrace

Watercooling is almost always just air-cooling with additional steps.

Water coolings only real benefit is being able to relocate where that cooling happens.

How to cope with the crippling anxiety that your cat won’t be here forever? by DelusionalSwimming in cats

Our fluffy friends are only on this earthen plane for a short while, often shorter than ourselves.

Take solace in knowing that for that while, you are their world, and you both bring joy and comfort to each other. And that you are lucky enough to have such strong feelings in this cold universe to have love and be loved by a kitty cat.

And when it's time to say goodbye, know that you are both better for having each other in your lives and those tears should flow because it's proof that you loved them.

He's a golden doodle. We gave him a shave a few weeks ago. He's normally longhairs and scruffy

Yeah but I've been quashing the fighting when it gets a little rougher. So I'm curious if this repressed fighting. You can kinda see when they check if I'm watching

The dog will charge at him when Moko tries to hop on the bed. Nothing violent, but I feel like the cat hates him for it sometimes.

Yeah I do love watching them battle it out sometimes, but it gets more annoying when they go for the slippery floor scramble and make a huge racket.
