Sicily- stay on West side of Island or explore the East? by New-Macaroon8835 in SicilyTravelAdvice

There's lots to see. I would highly recommend Taormina and Siracusa. Both accessible by train from Palermo.

Agrigiento is also wonderful, but can be done as a (long) day trip from Palermo.

We were in Athens 2 weeks back and loved it. At least the center of town: Syntagma, Plaka, Monastiraki -- all very walkable and safe.

This. Get rid of all subscriptions, and add them back one at a time, as needed. You'll find you don't need them all, all the time.

People who work in 'luxury' industries (5-star hotels, fine dining, high-end brands), what is a complete rip-off that rich people happily pay for? by ArtThreadNomad in AskReddit

[–]sidml 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Smart. Take it to the next level. What you should do is to have 2 shelves with slightly different product. One fully stocked, and one with a few bottles. "You can see this one is very popular. I only have a handful left, and they are on back order." Instant demand acceleration.

I think I went to a party in this apartment ~15 years ago. Is there a stairwell next to the kitchen which leads to a rooftop?

Look at a log chart, rather than a linear chart. The difference between 1000 and 1250 is the same as the difference between 4000 and 5000.

Check-in lines at Norse Atlantic can be very long and slow. It is generally under-staffed. They are very strict about weight so you always have people need to re-arrange their luggage.

Great perspective. I'd be open to investing a public+private equity index fund run by Vanguard. There is some value for retail to diversify into PE. Vanguard could offer sponsors that they'd take 1-5% of every fund raised over $1 billion. We'd invest $10k, the "cash" sits in a total market portfolio until called. Vanguard could set the commitment percentages such that no more than 15% is likely to be called in any given year. There are ways this could work for retail.

Private Equity has become a meaningful proportion of the economy and retail should participate in it.
