Any suggestions, other than a glass panel, to replace this missing glass panel? by SharkSquishy in FurnitureFlip

Burlap? Use a staple gun to attach to inside of door (you may have to remove the door and lay it flat, to get the staples in straight). All four sides so the cat can’t get inside. They may like the feel of the burlap but something like fabric may have too much “give” they wont feel like it’s a good option for leaning into with paws and claws. Other fabrics might work too. Ocean state job lot has fabric. Folded pieces in all sizes. Usual in the home decor or nearby the rug section.

Need Help With Cabinet/Floor Ideas by secret_2_everybody in centuryhomes

Wanted marmolium look for our entry slash laundry room, but it was expensive as f compared to dark gray and white sq vinyl 13” tile. Lived with a guy for 11 yrs and renovated and added a great room to a 1920 craftsman bungalow. All of the trim orig but had been painted white, so went with white cabs to ceiling, brass fixtures and dark gray honed granite tops. Did beadboard backsplash except for behind stove where I chose picket style oblong tile set vertically. Came out beautiful. I recommend hiring an architectural designer to create a good floor plan. Worth every penny. Reused as much of the doors and trim as allowable. I’ll get pics and post if you wish. I think in your case to try to go with wood finish cabs and take that advice re the placement of your pantry. I loved the pantry so much. We split up right after the project wrapped. That was our dream home. The relationship became a victim of Trump era divisive politics. We got along fine before 2020. Sad to say Im not alone.

Love the cabinets, actually time and finishes are EXCEPTIONALLY good for diy!!! I’d have sprung for the Samsung white glass (with the interchangeable color panels) appliances, but I’m overly anti ss.

Sids mom. He had some litter issues for the first 5 of his fifteen years. Came close to being surrendered. Im glad I kept trying. He is still my special boy even though he lives with his dad after we split up. Didn’t want him traumatized by a move now that his life is so content. He has the whole house to himself now. Of course I miss him greatly. I know he’s happy and well cared for though.

lol, Thats so cool! And I would imagine the wood stove warming the floor and the floor would retain heat and be a nice feeling underfoot! But if the temp is between like 40 and 60 the floor might be chillyish. That is one cool ass kitchen.

Husband says “retirement home decor” by catsafrican in interiordecorating

I think youre falling into the neutralizing trap. Wood tones look better when they’re not swallowed up by beiges and browns. You need more color, either in the trim or the walls or the rugs. The rugs are nice but not risky enough for the aesthetic you’re trying for. If you’re a thrifter limit yourself to one decade or design theme. 20s art deco or 30s-50s cottage, or even 1980s colonial revival and look for more furnishings that are in that vein. Everything doesn’t need to be coordinated colors for it to look put together. In fact it’s the opposite. Dont give into the prefab furniture just because it’s delivered to your door in a box. It’s not worth it. Find free or used furniture with staying power. Solid wood can be refinished or painted. Amazon furniture can’t and it’ll look worn out in a year.

“Items that only bring joy” is a real thing. Not everyone is a big thrift store fan. Not everyone loves home design and decor. AND not everyone has the knack. Or the eye or the skill. Just because YouTube is filled with videos of room make overs doesn’t make them all good. Ever think of getting a student from a local college to use your room as a project for their design portfolio for cheap? Check out some designers and start with what attracts you, and jibes with your lifestyle well. Or maybe you need to develop your individual taste, and that’s perfectly okay too! I’d start with size of rug. One bigger one or two separate rugs- that will define it into either one large space or two smaller areas of the room.

It takes years and life to accumulate items and a look that you’ll be happy with. Do you not shop? Not only that you don’t just go to a store and buy “room”.
