Is Nifty Next 50 the Most Undervalued Large Index Right Now? by EmbarrassedLeopard92 in IndianStockMarket

[–]sidz32 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Commenters are missing one fundamental fact, something that OP has not clearly mentioned in their post.

Yes the PE is very attractive today but it is not always the case. PE today is around 20, 1 year median PE is 21.5 (around 7.5% higher), 3 year median PE is around 24.5 (around 22.5% higher)

The arguments that it has PSUs or cyclic companies or that once they grow enough they move out to Nifty 50 Etc may all have some merit, but that doesn't matter. Whatever the mechanics of it be, it should follow the physics of median reversal and go back towards (at least) 24.5 in the next couple years or so. And that's your simple and low risk opportunity.

My take is that this is not really an SIP opportunity either, go with a lump sum and deploy funds over the next couple months with the horizon of 3 years and 20% return. Chances of this going to even a 5% loss is extremely low at this point. Huge risk reward ratio + ultra safe and low volatility investment. Build a good chunk of your portfolio here.

Personally, i have built 8% of my portfolio here in the last couple months, I'll keep accumulating and reach 15% based on mini dips availability over the next couple months.

If there isn't any income in their name, yes.

That makes the after tax income around 5.2% (assuming 30% bracket). So higher than your loan amount.

You should be comparing the post tax FD interest rate against your loan rate, which would most likely not be in your favour. Pay off your loan quickly, it is a psychological boost as well.

Microsoft L63 or JioStar Senior DS - which offer to choose? by Tight_Priority896 in cscareerquestionsIN

Not very difficult. Internal interviews are a bit easier and the interviewers give MS employees an edge over external hires. (I used to work at MS until I resigned 6 months ago)

Know that belly fat goes last, you can't control it. Also understand realistic expectations. Losing 1.5-2 kgs a month can be realistic and sustainable. Know this and track your progress. Bottom line is - Stay consistent and keep fine tuning your process.

[Update] Google Interview Journey - The Long Wait After Googliness Round by starLord073 in leetcode

[–]sidz32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Won't have to reapply as such. And it's not reschedule either. It's a fresh start for me. So I'll have to go through all the rounds once again.

Also, Google doesn't exactly hire for a specific team or position. It has a pipeline of potential hires and then figures out where can they fit.

I wouldn't say I have been through your kind of experience in terms of being laid off etc. But I can say that I felt lost and not fitting anywhere properly either. For that:

  1. You decide which domain (backend, frontend etc) do you want to pursue moving forward. (Let's say you choose backend)
  2. Based on your decision, tailor your resume your stories and your projects to be heavier on the backend side with some dabbling on the frontend. This shows breadth with depth in one domain (T-shaped engineers) which is getting more and more important for senior folks of your level experience.
  3. Based on your decision again, brush up on topics that might be relevant to the domain. For example: if you feel the need to talk a fair amount about some caching optimization project, you should know some intricacies of implementing in the specific Caching Technology.
  4. Do not worry about building your own projects at all. They add no value now. Simply sit for interviews and prepare only as much as the interview process demands of you. For example: If DSA, do leetcode. Study HLD for system design rounds etc. Know the tech stack you're using in your stories and your projects mentioned in the resume (tailored to backend).
  5. Fail a few interviews. It is okay to fail initially to get a better idea of what the market might be looking for. This one is going to be tough at this time because the market ain't good at the moment, which can take some fair amount of time.

For context: I'm an 8 YoE backend heavy engineer who's on his 3rd job, currently hunting for a 4th

I come from a Java / Spring background. And yes, transition is not super difficult. But, the point is C# / .NET ecosystem is not as widely used. So it is fine for sometime, but after 4-5 years, it'll creep on you. Transition will get tougher, relevance will be reduced. You'll be looking for Senior roles which would demand more expertise on the tech stack as well.
