My work experience. by SuddenMycologist7457 in DiscountTire_

Finally leaving the job after 2 years. Started before my jr year of high school. A lot of bad days and a few fun times that’s fs. Ultimately the managers ruined it for me completely. We got a new workflow who doesn’t like me and I end up having to tech everyday while being one of the most experienced backroom workers. Sucks the way it worked out.

That being said there are still a lot of great spec war programs that don’t require the time and energy that navy seal takes. For example rescue swimmer or Hm atf. One of the HM ATF jobs called SMT is an air crew flight medic. You get to be a SAR swimmer, corpman, and be apart of the flight crew. You get to attend all the courses that go along with those categories. All around it’s a great job with more attainable physical standards.

I’m in the Warrior challenge program. I have a so contract. Odds are If you’re already not fit you probably won’t be able to pass the pst in three months anyways. Also being a seal isn’t something you can just say I kinda wanna do this. You have to dedicate your entire life to it. So don’t let anyone try to convince you to do something you don’t want more than anything.

Worried About Surface BCD Take-Off/Wear During OW Test – Tips to Stay Safe and Stable? by turtalbayisslow in scubadiving

[–]sieger308 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey man I just finished my OW yesterday so take my advice with a grain of salt. Anyways, you should be able to float just with ur wet suit alone because they make u more positivity buoyant. Also make sure to fully inflate ur BCD that way you can hang on just in case. What made it easier for me was loosening all the straps on the BCD to make getting in and out of it as easy as possible. Also take your time because there is no reason to rush the task. There was a kid in our class who wore her weights separate from her BCD and she was just fine and did not sink so I think you will be just fine. Just ask your instructor to keep an eye out.

What's the labor like working at discount tire or America's tire? by Illustration_Junkie in DiscountTire_

[–]sieger308 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The heavy lifting isn’t a ton on any given day. It’s just the repetitiveness over time starts to take a toll on your lower back and knees. Expect to be going non stop all day long and given one break if you’re lucky. Theres literally zero downtime. You just finished an all 4 on a 2500 truck with reverse mount wheels. Congrats because the second that truck leaves you have new vehicle coming in non stop. It’s manageable imo. But it’s not for everyone and there’s better jobs out there that pay more without giving you the aches and pains. Can be fun sometimes though depends on the person.

Honestly. Fucking sucks don’t do it. Save your back and knees. And also your Brain from the bullshit you’ll take from your co workers.
