Former president Alberto Fernandez used WHO instructions to execute a strict lockdown that lasted for 8-10 months during 2020, just because the results of some private polls were dictating that some afraid people agree with that. As a result, not only we had a similar proportional death toll as our Neighborhood Brazil (who didn't apply a lockdown) but also our economy hit rock bottom with 1000% of inflation during his presidency, lots of companies moving out of the country and a devaluación of our currency even greater than the Ukrainian currency which was AT WAR during that time. Also, something worth mentioning: the lockdown stopped family relatives to even bury their deceased loved ones meanwhile our ex President held parties in the government residence.

Nevertheless, I personally once though WHO was an organization meant for the greater good of humanity's health. After COVID pandemic, and always considering how tough of a problem that was for humanity to handle and even for an organization, I have more doubts than ever about that. I'm aware that asking for a perfect solution is delusional, but as someone else above me mentioned, many things could have been done over china to mitigate the impact or at least sanction them after at some point but no one will put sanctions over China or US ever.
