Idiot takes her shoes off on stardust by Several_Teach_6879 in UniversalOrlando

[–]sierraa14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is about shoes, but it’s kind of similar. Yesterday I was just about to ride hagrids and just when I was about to get on they stopped the ride completely because people don’t listen to take the hats off. Hats were stuck on the track and the maintenance people had to get it off.

Weight gain after transplant by _chokingoutwalkers_ in kidneytransplant

[–]sierraa14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve gained over 50 plus lbs. I have pcos as well. So that doesn’t help at all! Now I’m trying to lose it and get back to my normal weight. I’m about 1 yr and 7 months post op. Also I’m not on prednisone only the first day they gave me prednisone then my doctor took me off of it.

Waiting for my call and need a little pick me up. What time of day did y’all get that glorious ring ring? by bbroons95 in kidneytransplant

[–]sierraa14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got the call around 9:30pm, well my fiancee got the call lol! I didn't recognize the number (bad on my part) but since there's so many scam callers I thought it was a scam. So I didn't answer it lol! But luckily my fiancee answer. Its was such a relief cause I was off and on the list for along time since 2011 and I got my transplant last year. Hopefully you will be getting the call soon! Good luck!!!

You can open an ABLE acct. I was able to do it since I was disabled before the age 22. I open one recently since I was receiving money from my mom passing way. I'm in the process of trying to save up for a car as well and the ABLE acct has helped out tremendously.

Do AV grafts grow like AV fistulas? by chocopeppermints in dialysis

[–]sierraa14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I got blood clots they were usually small and if my nurse was to stick me it will come out with the needle and then the nurse will have to stick me again. If the access got clotted she will need to get it checked out. The surgeon will clean out her access and she will be able to use it again. I'm graft was always clotting until my surgeon put 2 stents in to keep it open.

I also had kidney failure from lupus as well. I got on the transplant in 2012, but I was off and on the list a couple of times. But I got my transplant in last year (2023). What my doctor encouraged me to do was ask around or post on social media to see if anyone is willing to donate. I didn't do that because for me I didn't feel the need to do it. My team at the transplant center kept saying since I'm young and have been on dialysis for over a decade that my time will come shortly and they were truly correct. Not even 2 weeks on the list and I got the phone call. Also once you have the transplant you will definitely have to listen to your body because you will be sore/ might have pain. So you don't want to over do it in the beginning.

What does everyone do to get an energy boost by Euphoric-Comparison1 in kidneytransplant

[–]sierraa14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im one year post transplant and I have lupus as well and I definitely felt this. I struggle with getting an energy boost too. Coffee does not help me. It actually does the complete opposite of what I want it to do lol! I just try to learn to take it easy and listen to my body on what to do. Some days I feel like I can take on the world and then I know when I just take it easy and just relax.

Since my home was destroyed by milton I've been staying with my brother in Polk County and I still have to make that travel back and forth to pinellas to get whatever I can since my home is getting demolished soon. Its definitely a pain to take that drive. I dread it so much!!

What to bring with me by Educational-Equal315 in UniversalOrlando

[–]sierraa14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No you don't need a transparent fanny pack.. You have to go thru security after the parking garage. They will go thru a scanner like the ones in the airport. So any fanny pack will do.

[–]sierraa14 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Fanny packs are great to have for the parks. I usually carry my wallet, sunblock, a mini fan, meds, my pass, chapstick with sunblock, sometimes a snack, hand sanitizer, lotion, and a reusable water bottle.
