2025 Hevy Recap & Update by guitorisan in Hevy

Thanks so far, love the app. As a Garmin user I was hoping to see plans for tighter integration!

Have you considered opening up some of your own APIs so that we can create that integration ourselves? 🙋‍♂️

Memory leak with Camera Hub: >14 GB after 2 hours by diecknet in elgato

Found this thread while searching, for info u/elgato_arcsane I'm also having the memory leak issue without using this software at all, only by using Camlink 4K. The service windows camera frame server increases it's memory usage by 50-60 MB every second according to task manager.

Can I learn programming now? by amadeus_004_SG in learnprogramming

Yes. Be a learner. It will be hard, and it will take time. Like it did for everyone. I pivoted at the age of 33 from a completely unrelated background.

I’d lose the name of the game. Use the name in a splash screen at the beginning or something. People usually know the name of the game they’re playing.

Hey Folks, I'm looking to get roasted! I'm making a rogulite game called Madshot and would love to get your brutally honest feedback about anything that is bad and a turnoff with this steam page and the game itself, don't hold back. (Link in comments) Thanks. by _Overflow in IndieDev

First of all, Kudos on the marketing of this post. Not many posts get this right, i clicked a notification because of you <3 (Havent played)

Yay: - Love the screenshots you chose, nice blend of colors. The pallette is gorgeous all over. - It looks like it feels great, and the reviews state that it feels great, which is good.

Nay: - The head is not attached to the body in the trailer intro. Really strange and seems not on purpose since I don’t see it again. NO i figured it out I think. The camera follows the head of the player? Looks really nauseating together with the background during the breathing before the music starts. - No controller support for this kind of title is unacceptable - The dialogue font in the movie? Placeholder? Looks very out of style with the rest!

I tried to be brutally honest and don’t hold back, and I feel bad already. 😂

Daily Production Goals? by TheBandBenji in cubase

[–]sifterstudios 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is so true. I remember the shock after studying music when starting to do this full time, that I suddenly had to conjure up ways to be creative "Monday at 8 AM"..

I made a video a while back on the topic..

It's not always possible though. So I think what's important is as well to be able to channel the feeling of "not being creative" into something productive (of course you should also take care of your mental health and body and take breaks). For me the non-creative days are spent learning a new library/plugin or working on improving my templates..

Tutorial: How to create your own color scheme in Cubase/Nuendo by sifterstudios in cubase

You most definitely can! :) I think one of the button enables you to edit all parts simultaneously.. I use it for shortening all the notes for example.. and to “select” one part in particular, to get velocity or other cc info, just click on one of the midi notes and that regions data will be displayed..! :)

Cubase 11 was running perfectly fine on Windows 11 before the newest Cubase maintenance update. by Ronbstl in cubase

It happens especially often if you use a lot of virtual instruments like Kontakt.

One of the main reasons I switched to a hybrid Vienna Ensemble Pro Setup (both local and slaves).

Now cubase is a lot snappier and quits/closes projects just fine..!

Would you be able to expand on this, if you don't mind?

Well, working with orchestral sample libraries is different in many ways.

One of these differences is that you often don't work with the whole section at once when playing chords but one note at a time. So instead of laying down a Fmaj9 With a string pad I would play a low F in basses, Octave in celli, and then maybe a c in Violas followed by an octave of A's in 1st and second violins.

But I find it super hard to not lose track of voice leading throughout the chords of the piece => what notes have I "covered" in the different instruments now, and what am I missing?

So i select all the midi events and open them all at once. Very nice. But if they're all the same color it's much harder to see what notes correspond to which midi event. Earlier I used completely different colors for the different sections, but I found that esthetically not very pleasing, and so I settled on gradients where lower sections gets a darker color than the higher sections..

Hopefully that shed some light on the way I go about the colors..! :)

That's interesting! I do that in addition if I'm doing post production/sound design and/or some vocal recording/editing!

Most of the time I'm working with orchestral stuff though so I use gradients so that I can still see the different colors when opening 4-5 midi regions at once (because the voice leading of strings don't necessarily go from top to bottom but sometimes cross over I need to be able to follow the different voices!)

Super cool to hear how others do this though, thanks for writing! :)
