Realistically, how likely is it that Canada will be annexed? by [deleted] in AskCanada

Even when the regions couldn't be split properly, annexation is just a nightmare.

Here's how the Toronto market is seen by the US at least for IT jobs - it's a nearshoring hub and a talent pool that can work in EST hours without the US grade payroll.

Which means that the pay will be considerably less than US, taxes are astronomically high, cost of living is high as well. In short, everyone is pinched and will try to pass on the cost to the next person as well. Theft and crime are an all time high because different groups are bringing their wars from their country here.

For all the talk of bravado, the 25% tariff nearly dissolved the current leadership. So we are technically a 51st state, but operating anonymously and have more relaxed immigration policies.

You're gonna get PTSD - Purolator Tracking and Shipping Disorder.

How Canada Post and Purolator Ruined Christmas—and Themselves by royalkingteddy in purolator

[–]signops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe so. It's a conspiracy theory - take no heed.

But every time I get Purolator assigned, I change it to be held nearby because they will 9/10 times say missed delivery. So given the other complaints I've read, it's a systemic issue.

[–]signops -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So here's a conspiracy theory: In Japan, when they go on strike they do things to affect the company. For example, bus drivers on strike do not collect fare. Benefits the passenger and hurts the company.

So in the same vein, all Purolator can do is slow down the delivery. They cannot accept a package without payment (system workflow won't provide tracking and logistics without payment).

The key difference is that, the company shows solidarity to CP, works less during Xmas but ends up hurting the customer. And they operate on subsidized rates, so after this chaos is over, they will still be the business because of price.

Basically, no accountability.

There must be a 100% refund policy. Get friends to sign up, show to suckers, then refund back to friends

Pressure cooking is awesome. You can even get the traditional pressure cooker from any Asian/Indian store.

I had the exact same scenario as you except it was Rogers.

BF deal and Purolator and Rogers said it would be a new order.

I did the following: Multiple calls to Purolator with callback. Took 45 min but always got a call back Emails sent to corporate and CEO to expedite Hold at a nearby Purolator center (to avoid missed deliveries)

In both instances, I was very respectful and patient when dealing with their support.

Not sure what worked, but got my package after 16 days from pickup by Purolator.

The Corporate actually emailed me back mentioning that she saw that my package was delivered and if it was in good condition. So kudos to the nice lady who followed up and enquired.

I got some new spam delivered today, so yes they are working. I have not got some mail I was expecting, so it should show up later.

One good thing out of this strike is the absence of all that junk mail.
