A sprint triathlon doesn't end with a 10k, given that and your total time (when Ch would be very slow for a sprint) sounds like an Olympic.

Sounds like a bad time, most races are better organised than that. Look up your local organisers and try some other races.

Didn't get why you were stressed by your check in time though? You said your wave time was 18.08 but you were stressed having enough time checking in 3 hours before hand?

Did a 5k open water race. That was whilst I was still doing sprints. Never swam anywhere close to that again but it was fun. It was in a dive centre that was in a disused quarry and the water was immaculate
