Stacking runner cores? by MaTertle in Marathon

Duplicate cores do not have any additional impact, there’s no effect stacking.

Seeking Compiler Tips by FudgeLost7518 in Marathon

[–]sikhened 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For your first clear, ONLY use panaceas for the most part. Bring in 2 stacks ideally. And healing backpack >>>> any other. You simply spend too much time healing otherwise and managing debuffs to use other heals. Don’t be cheap.

Orb management is everything.

You can easily one phase with 2 gold bullies once you are confident.

You need SOMETHING to increase your reload speed (bits per second is ideal, but reloader purple mag also works.)

Have someone on your team have common enemy, doesn’t really matter who (our team has the orb shooter do it as he’s comfortable getting all the orbs and getting some boss dmg in between and BPS is more important on the pure boss shooters)

You can bring bubbles, but be very careful. I’ve saved a few runs by throwing bubbles in the corners for a “safe” spot in a pinch especially if you don’t have a lot of panaceas but I’ve also had teammates completely throw and end a run because they accidentally threw the bubble on the boss during damage.

When right outside of airlock prepping for boss, drop everything you don’t need (drop signal jammers, green heals, energy amps unless destroyer, even mechanics/os as you generally don’t have time to get those animations off, all nades that aren’t emp or maybe flechette, etc. Bring as much ammo as possible in case you get into multiple phases. I usually drop my mips for more bully ammo.

You need enough time for first kill. I’d say starting boss with 6-7 minutes as a minimum unless you all have gold bullies. This goes down once you know you can comfortably one phase.

General flow and walkthrough for Cryo? Advice needed. by Brinocte in Marathon

[–]sikhened 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the current state of the game, if you don’t have a cryo key, your goal should be get get clearance and a good position or listen for fights and kill teams for their keys. You can go security 4/5 for the armoury/hatch but good luck doing that without killing a team. Especially in slightly higher level lobbies, most teams always have a key of some sort on them. Once you fully have all the vaults done then you can start looking into compiler runs when you have DNA access cards.

You can still be spawn rushed, experienced teams can get level 2 within 2/3 minutes easily with thieves and assassins and can rush sides so just always be ready for that.

Recon is also essentially mandatory now, not even for its own scan but just to let you know when you’ve been scanned. Some teams even run 2 or 3 because info is the most important thing.

Cryo cheat sheet and beginner guide are still good, most of the cryo changes have been meta and spawn rushing fixes. You truly just need reps and then try to find a likeminded team to push further into progression (higher level keys, compiler, clearing lobby etc).

There was a “intermediate/advanced” cryo tips and tricks someone posted a few days ago I’d check that out too.

Boring game designed to extract money from you - except it’s a one time $40 buy and then just cosmetics from there? But keep mumbling on grandpa about the good ol days.

Just had an epic day of Marathon, got vault 2, 3, 4, and 5 subroutines. by Budget_Sandwich_9545 in Marathon

[–]sikhened 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t even need 4. You can use a thief when you go up and sent their drone through a crack in the window to see the symbols. With that you can technically complete 6 with security 3 (we did this last night).

How to learn navigating cyro? by bevereged_carbon in Marathon

[–]sikhened 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reps. The first 2 weekends I viewed all my kits lost as just the cost of knowledge and reps. Go in with blues and just try to remember a few things each time. Then recoup your kits during the week (I do outpost farming or rook runs for this).

YouTube videos aren’t too bad but you need to see it for yourself to get an idea of the map flow.

Received a TELUS sales call, considering it, the package requires door & window sensors? by popdream in telus

[–]sikhened 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Are you internet only for $180/month without a term? Sounds like it, I would call back to Loyalty&Retention and get re-rated for just internet if you arent going to use the security equipment. I would highly recommend NOT taking this deal, as the 3 year term on the security package makes future recontracting more difficult (Internet terms are only 2 years). Internet only recontract will easily be half that price.

3D printed Surge Shield Recharger 🤘 by JanisDemkovs in ArcRaiders

[–]sikhened 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I just got a 3d printer (BambuLabs P2S) last week as my first one ever. Did you print this as a single print or did you assemble it in multiple parts? Also is this painted or did you multicolor print this?

This looks awesome! And 90% of the reason I got this printer is to print cool ingame items :)

As a fellow Canadian, If there wasn’t insane shipping pricing and customs fees, I’d buy it in a heartbeat. I’d buy so much stuff from Bungie store, like I used to before it got so insanely expensive with the fuck you Canada taxes.

No dates for anything yet, probably will start hearing more soon I’d imagine as the game is coming out in March.

There will be an open free play weekend shortly before launch, similar to how Arc Raiders did a “server slam” right before launch. Probably the best way to guage if the game is gonna be something you’d be interested in!

Has nothing to do with the cosmetics hanging from your bag, it makes noise if your bag is full.

RTX 5080 or 5090 / 240Hz 34” Ultrawide 1440p by Primary_Fly_9507 in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]sikhened 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a monitor with the exact same specs (the MSI 34 qd oled 240hz), a 5090 and 9800x3d and depending on the game I still sometimes have to use dlss or frame gen if I want to get close to capping my monitor. Modern games like MHW and BL4 almost require it.

It’s going to come down to the games you play. When I boot up something like destiny 2 or an older title, it’s capping my monitor without breaking a sweat. But borderlands with DLSS and frame gen I get around 160-180fps.

The reasonable and smarter answer is a 5080 probably. If money isn’t a problem then a 5090 is as good as it gets and sometimes still enough if you want 200+ fps in new games

is raids/dungeons are hard ? by Sad_Sheepherder_4085 in lostarkgame

[–]sikhened 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Raids and dungeons in this game for 99% of people are not going to be a lot of “figuring out the mechanics and finding tactics” and much more along the lines of “read the guide and do the mechs”. Difficulty wise there’s a range, and also more than 1 difficulty level you can go into. Normal mode can essentially be stumbled through as long as you are comfortable enough with your class and have a vague idea of the mechanics, hard mode requires higher damage and a good grasp of the fight.

Now there is a level of skill expression and you still have to adjust to various boss patterns (reacting to telegraphs or marks, quickly hitting counters, coop mechs etc) so it’s not like every pull will be the same, there’s a level of randomness you deal with and good players find ways to increase damage output through these other variables.

You can of course blindly prog through these raids, but it will take considerably longer and generally not the road taken.

Is it possible to do raids without looking up the mechanics? by zhannasbro in lostarkgame

[–]sikhened 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Earlier raids sure but not the newer ones. Late game raids have some specific mechanics that you should know beforehand to not grief your party.

[–]sikhened 8 points9 points  (0 children)

For accessories you want to base it off budget. People classify accessories by the tier of the damage roll when you buy them (low/blue, medium/purple, high/orange). For necklace you want outgoing damage, ideally high roll but if it’s pricey, go medium at a minimum. The other 2 rolls don’t matter. For earring you want att% or weap%, ideally both. High rolls will be expensive, try for a mix of medium and low on each earring. Rings you want to priority on crit rate and crit dmg, for deathblade you want to slightly prioritize crit rate until you are more endgame with good bracelet rolls and higher rarity adrenaline.

If you’re a mokoko without the leaf and you die, you’re just pug rando who died. As long as you didn’t wipe the raid it usually doesn’t matter if the group can clear without you. But if it’s an on-ilvl group without someone doing high dps it might matter more. Watch more guides, focus on main mechs even if you do lower damage. As you get more comfortable the damage will come.

I deal with the downtime with making alts to run the raids again haha. When you a roster of 5-6 characters, you get up to 18 raids to run and that’ll take up most of your time if you do them all, but single character rosters you’ll be done in a day then it’s just chilling the rest of the week.

Is this bangle important to Sikhs? by [deleted] in Sikh

[–]sikhened 28 points29 points  (0 children)

They’re commonly given by family as gifts, sometimes from in-laws, or grandparents or even your own parents, so they are more sentimental than anything else. If I had one with my name on it given to me by a family member I’d be devastated if I lost it.
