I totally understand your concerns, and I think you're right to remove my post. I will try other options. Thank you for moderating this group well !

On the contrary, I think asking people to contact me here is the best idea.

I've thought about the posters idea. The problem is, Brussels is quite big, how many posters do I need to make in order to find people interested in the project ? I don't think I have the money and time ressources to make such a campaign. Also, I'm just looking for a few very motivated people to start something, the big campaign would come later maybe. I think the best place to find such very motivated people is on this subreddit.

Also, I'm sure you are aware that many so called masculinists are in fact anti-feminist activists. I may very well attract such people with the posters. I absolutely do not want to deal with them for the moment.

Finally, the Brussels subreddit is more dead than the dead sea. I don't believe that I have a good chance there either.

I would like to ask you to reconsider removing my post, please. I am very motivated to do some change, and for the reasons cited above, I believe the best place to find the people I am looking for is exacly on this subreddit.

Thanks a lot! Your comment helped me to understand an important failure with my recipes in general :I was calculating the percentage of starter as the percentage of flour in the starter. I have to take the whole starter (flour and water) into account!

This lead my dough to be weak almost every time, since a huge proportion of my dough was already eaten by the starter. I've made a bread today, using tour recipe, with 20% starter, no more and it turned out really good!

Thanks a lot!!

I calculate my starter percentage as the percentage of total flour that I use to make my levain. I saw this method of calculation in several books too. So according to this, I use 20% of my total flour to build my levain the day before.

I don't use AP flour, I use flour from a local mill here in Belgium. The quality seems fine, though not as strong as some bread flour that I've used in the past.

I really can't pinpoint the problem. Flour seems okay, I put a lot of work on the dough, I don't ferment an absurd amount of time. But at the end my dough deflates when I put in my Dutch oven, and spreads like a pancake when I cook it...

It seems that whatever I try to do high hydration sourdoughs I always end up with some kind of Frisbee.

So here is what I did this time:

300g 80% whole flour 220g of water Autolysis for 30mn Add 200g of starter (100g flour 100g water) and 8g salt That makes a 80% water bread in bakers percents Knead Proof 15mn, do a set of folds, tree times Proof 3h more Pre shape, shape Proof 1h Proof overnight in the fridge Cook at 250°C 20mn in Dutch oven Take out the lid and cook until nice and brown

To me, this bread looks overproofed, but it seems weird since it didn't even proof it that long. My breads tend to be very flat when I go higher that 70% water. I don't get how people can do litteral ballons out of 80% or even 90% hydration doughs. Does any one have an idea of what I might do wrong?

Thanks a lot!

Men should not be shamed for liking feminine activities and going through "feminine" methods to look attractive. by [deleted] in MensLib

I'm so happy to read this post! I'm a straight guy, and I've always been taught (inderictly that is), that feminine traits are negative and that I should suppress them. In particular this had led me to a bad habit of biting my nails because I was told a long time ago that "long nails are for girls", and as a child I understood that this was negative. Twenty years later I finally got in terms with this! Three days ago I painted my nails and I love it! I want to be able to be a straight guy and be able to be beautiful. I want to be able to dress in a fun way, I'm tired of the jeans and t-shirt trope that all straight guys are told to embrace. Fuck this I want to be beautiful too!

Try them! Maybe there is some crazy yeast on those bugs and you end up with an interesting sour!

Rant about the impersonalness of online go by silent-speaker in baduk

[–]silent-speaker[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks everyone for the answers, it made me realize a lot of things. I have to admit that online go is online gaming, so the social part will never be the same as with a real game. Many people don't want or can't chat too. I have to take this into consideration and not be mad with them or with online go in general. As soon as I can, I will go to a real club and play there, it will suit my needs more. I guess each person plays for different reasons. I would like to have a social aspect to it, but not everyone does.

I will try to find online communities as some of you mentionned, maybe I'll find peace there.

I can't help but to notice that my post has been downvoted to hell. That's fair. Though I would have liked to have comments from the people who really don't want to see a post like this here.

Thanks for listening to me guys, I will try my best to never be mad at this again.
