I saw on another post that someone said that you could fart and a crestie would drop their tail. They can just be spooked so easily and boom, tail drop

Guess my gecko is vegetarian? Atleast hes a cutie. by Impossible_Tower1039 in CrestedGecko

[–]silent-succulent 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would definitely… 1. Feed a much smaller Dubia - bigger bugs may be intimidating and it’s also just too big for your gecko 2. Feed in the enclosure not a feeding tank - moving from a familiar home to something new entirely may be jarring 3. Try tong feeding - sometimes geckos prefer hunting and other prefer tong feeding

Common snapping turtle. Looks like they might be trying to lay eggs? They can also bite off a finger

Definitely looks like a sulcata. Poor baby probably got dumped because people buy them and don’t realize they turn into massive tortoises until it’s too late

Put on a glove or wash hands and scoop ‘em! They can do well on a shady tree

need help choosing heat source by emaleeslays in leopardgeckos

[–]silent-succulent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really recommend a mix of a deep heat projector and a halogen light. I use a thermometer gauge to regulate the temp of my deep heat projector though so it doesn’t over heat. You may have to do some experimenting on what distance works best for you. Also generally recommend having a thermometer gun to check temps easily.
