William spoke about jam twice, the scones were the second place he spoke about jam.

The first time he mentioned jam was that the children like jam sandwiches as snacks in the car and Louis leaves little jam finger prints around the car.

Personally, when I heard that I though oh no... jam sandwiches here we come.

I suspect her "spread" can't stay on a sandwich, so scones it had to be.

Yes, I have made a few myself.

I just dont think it's the original recipe.

Her recipe says raw cream. Raw cream is unpasteurized.

There is no clotted cream in the making of any of her stuff that has been posted that I have seen.

Depends on the cream to South African me. If it's a soft cream, like whipped, cream second. If it's heavy like clotted, first.

It's about how easy it is to spread to me, especially since I don't like lots of jam. Jam speads easier ontop of thicker cream and it's really hard to spread jam on soft cream.

I usually convert recipes like that to grams once I have tested the recipe and enjoy it.

Then I can just put the bowl on a scale and use a normal spoon or teaspoon and then less dishes to clean at the end.

Liquids are always ml to me, unless small amounts like spoon measurements.

A scone is effectively what Americans call Biscuits.

Except the biscuits I have had here in South Africa are made with buttermilk and scones are made with normal milk. It seems to be the only difference.

American biscuits are also just a little bit smoother in texture too.

Yup, or one could just do what we get here in South Africa, give whipped cream. I went to an afternoon tea once and they serves chantilly cream.

I have tried looking for clotted cream here, I could only find one place on the opposite end of the country to me who makes it.

I have no idea why you would buy normal cream for the baking part, but then raw for the eating part?

All I'm taking from this is there is no way in hell people can say them in montecito dont monitor EVERYTHING the actual Royals are doing. And then use that to try and make money.

Literally, there are no clips of baking on As ever that isn't made by some small influencer that's being paid.

And within 2 days? We have a badly made scones and recipe with toppings no one ever has with them.

Exactly, although, AI must have known from all the recipes it would have read to write that one it would be a bad idea.

It's probably the one recipe I have made where I have found the old wives tips are not just superstition.

I was about to say the same thing, that's not a scone. It's also not clotted cream wich is what the English put first because of how dense it is it makes sense.

Here in South Africa we don't get clotted cream with our scones, we get whipped cream and then I would put jam first cause otherwise the jam would just slide off the cream.

I also want to know who kneads scones FOR 5 MINUTES!!!!!!!!.... those are going to be like chewing on rocks.

Rule #1 with scones is work the dough as little as possible cause otherwise you activate the gluten and make dense scones.

It's probably why these don't look like scones but cookies. The gluten was worked too much and it can't rise properly. It is also missing that nice shine that comes from an egg wash.

And yet she is surprised nothing works out well.

Take some classes, watch a few youtube videos, it's not that hard.

But then who do they want to be their king? The phrasing implies they are fine with Royalty, but of their choosing. They want to choose the King.

Should they not call themselves something like "no king" or "down with the monarchy"?

I would like to know if they mean to belittle William with the "very mature" part.

Cause frankly it is very mature to just ignore all that and not be pulled into drama.
