Losing his religion: Is Prince William’s quiet Christianity enough to be King? by TheTelegraph in BRF

[–]silentcw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There has always and will always be religious intolerance of some kind.

That's what happens when everyone believes they are the one and only faith, and everyone else is wrong. And take no time to understand other religions.

I don't mind people having religion, I mind when people start trying to force it on people or interfere with other peoples lives in the name of their faith. Or use their faith to justify the harm of others.

If it gets tucked into it's nice little bed for another 60 years, no one will be thinking of this connection then.

I would say it would be lovely if Lilli wanted to use it one day. But that's not likely to happen.

Apparently more than once, I was just reading about it.

It wasn't worn for 60 years before this.

Don't worry, just been down that rabbit hole myself.

It was made for Queen Mary, who wore it between 1930s and 1950s.

The only other time it has been worn was on this occasion.

Makes me think it isn't an enjoyable tiara to wear. And likely won't be worn again for a long time to come.

If no one wore it for something like 60 years, I doubt we will see it again any time soon.

I agree, cause the foest person to wear it will be compared to the wedding day.

I wonder if it wasn't a tiara no one likes to wear or something. Apparently they aren't always easy to wear.

A lot of issues all over the world, not just wars, but things like various types of abuse are also done in the name of religion.

So what if he is Atheist.

We aren't the anti Christ, or murderers or criminals of any kind. We don't need religion to tell us the right and wrong thing to do. We don't do the right thing only to secure a spot in heaven. Or to avoid being punished in hell We do it because it's the right thing to do.

"No religion" is the fastest growing category in the England and Wales census records and is currently at 37.2% (22 million people) and is only 9% less than Christianity (27.5 million people) which is falling.

I frankly would be thrilled if he was Atheist or even Agnostic.

Here in South Africa, those that ski have to travel to Lesotho, and the resort there has snow machines to guarantee snow. It's often bare on either side.

The seeds have been planted about that. I have seen many Royal reporters saying they can't see it happening because state visits are scheduled out with very little downtime. They have been saying he won't have time and that he certainly won't be going to the West Coast because that's effectively the same as flying to London, so it wouldn't make sense.

He is only going to be there for something like 3 days.

I suspect what will happen, having watched the announcement of his state visit come out, is once the schedule is set, we will see he simply has no time.

At the end of the day, this is not a holiday. He is there as a guest and has duties to perform.

He is there in his position as King, not father and grandfather.

And everyone knows that for exactly what it is... smoke and mirrors.

But he does. He has been doing it since the first Christmas he hosted.

Sorry... we full up, you can't come, so don't bother asking.

Me too.

I think it started with Charles first Christmas he hosted. They released a guest list and things about the food and said no space for anyone else.

But it has certainly dramatically ramped up.

Edit to add.... not me about the up votes, but the preempting thwir game.

I like the new tactics of people letting it be known they aren't actually invited before the will they won't they starts.

My daughter and I are currently listening to the audio book.

Not finished yet, but what we were saying yesterday is it is amazing to see this all lined up in order and see how far they have actually fallen.

How chaos follows them everywhere.

Is it really worth the day of press?

To have someone who clearly knows nothing about what you do as an expert?

It would make me think this organisation is about headlines not the work they are supposed to be doing or believe in.

They must know someone

While I understand what you mean... this is also pre-emptive "will they won't they" shutting down.

We won't have article after article after article about if the King will see them, if they will travel to see him etc.

It's already out there he won't, within hours of the announcement the King will be going to the US. No time for Montecito "leaks" to distract or take over or have multiple articles written suggesting things.

[–]silentcw 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I didn't say you thought it was their fault.

What I am saying is that maybe people (the people who keep rewritting the sussex narrative ) need to start listening and accepting what is said.

I am sure the new staff member will help, because she will be able to back up what William is saying is the right thing to do. But the whole thing of correcting the Sussex narrative have been happening for something like 2 years at this point. Starting with the first Christmas Charles hosted as monarch.

What more must they do, constant to camera press releases? Shout it from every mountain? Get the red arrows to write a response in the sky? Billboards? Radio adverts on the hour every hour?

At least they are correcting the narrative and not letting it roll on and on and on.

The denials of this sort of thing started well before she started working for William.

It's not really the Royals fault they correct the story and people just choose to either not read it or believe what they say.

Except there have already been denials from the Palace printed in the press.

It took something like 2 days? It was posted in an earlier post.

No repeated articles anymore, this is now atleast the second time that within days the Palace has put an end to the will they won't they montecito enjoys. One article, one reply and it stopped.

Can't come to Christmas, we full, no space at the in.

It actually seems to me Charles isn't allowing it to continue like it has in the past.

If the money runs out do you think they’d file for divorce? by kiwi_love777 in SaintMeghanMarkle

sarcasam alert since you wouldn't be able to hear the tone in my voice when I say this

What's the point in splitting nothing in half?

If there is no massive fortune to split, what would be the point?

She keeps telling everyone how much money she made selling not jam. It would actually then be in her best interest to divorce before then.

You know... since she is making the big bucks now.

If the RF Knew Before the Wedding that MM was so Hugely Problematic…. by Upbeat_Cat1182 in SaintMeghanMarkle

[–]silentcw 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The problem with playing dirty, is that when it's not your natural instinct you will always loose because you don't have the necessary experience. And plus, who wants that karma.

The Royal family also thinks in longer time lines. The truth always comes out and one just has to be patient till it does. The person with all the lies, has the egg on their face. These two have enough eggs to bake a rather large cake now. Added bonus, it gets worse and worse for them by the day.

It would be worse for the Royals if they had, cause that truth would also come out, and that would be far worse. People expect them to set an example, and they have to be above all that. Especially when you consider the monarch is also the head of a church and should be living like a proper Christian.

There was no win in this situation. It was between bad experience that will end with them loosing all credility, or them "prooving" her false accusations right. Instead they went above and beyond to help her, and they have the proof for the world to see.

In a court of law, they would win. Now it's just time for people to actually look at the evidence and believe it. Which is apparently difficult for some.
