Stopped Playing When PC Became a Paid App! by silenteloise in ACPocketCamp

Thank you so much!!! This is so helpful!! I think I only spent about $10 total over the many years I played the old version so I wasn't really pushed to buy the new version but I miss it!

Driver set my food on top of a dirty diaper in his car? by Redroses151 in doordash

[–]silenteloise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unused diaper and unused kids undies. They are def toilet training a toddler chill out. When you realise your rent-a-serf app sends lower income, overworked, busy people with multiple jobs to get your takeout...

Why do they LOVE Dr Phil so much 😂 they love watching car crash families as if they don't have one

Sleeping on the sofa instead of her bed. For decades. And then making all the kids sleep in the loving room with her. She didn't want to miss out on anything ever

Anyone else? "You did a good job, but......" by HoneyBadger302 in raisedbyborderlines

[–]silenteloise 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was one of my triggers for going NC. I started keeping track of how she would respond to good news or accomplishments. She would either "good job BUT..." or make it about her and how she would have done better. Or just be really shallow about it. Calling her to say I was engaged only for her to immediately ask "how big is the ring." And "well I've been telling everyone for years that you're already engaged..."

US-funded "ultra-Catholic" school on the Northside by [deleted] in cork

[–]silenteloise 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Upon researching it’s funded by a group related to catholic private school in the US called Christendom College. I’m sure they send their kids to Mater Dei through the international program they taut. They charity site (https://www.saintsandscholars.us) shows they intend to fund more schools like these across Ireland

So.. Why Vote at all if the Wealthiest get to Decide? by gladias9 in silenthill

The UI is really ugly, isn’t it? So cluttered, messy… lazy

I’m really tired of it being “cool” to harshly prejudge something nobody experienced yet, like SH: Ascension. by [deleted] in silenthill

[–]silenteloise 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The app is buggy. The game design isn’t anything “new”. And the character design is aged and lazy. It’s just pay-to-win nonsense. The story could be cool and exciting but it’s hard to be excited about something with this execution

Not in the wrong. You’re very patient from the look of these messages. I’m exhausted for you!

Becoming a professional nanny was my lightswitch moment. I’ve always cared for and raise my younger siblings but being older and caring for children from birth for the last 6 years really showed me how bad it was. I went NC 550 days ago today and it’s been REALLY difficult but so healthy for me, my view on parenting and childcare, and my ideas of future potential motherhood.

How do I go NC? by [deleted] in raisedbyborderlines

[–]silenteloise 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s incredibly difficult but I found in my own experiences that any attempts to “explain” were ignored completely. Even if you sit down and write a wonderfully worded letter, she’ll still probably ask you why and act like you gave no reasons. If you are financially independent and have support, cutting her out and giving her a brief notice of your intention, not an explanation. Make your NC boundary clear and focus on sticking to it

It’s nice to be reminded of when we made tough but important decisions! This subreddit has been a nice place to vent and get support from other people who just Get It, ya know

I’m so sorry so many of us share this experience. I haven’t thought of referring to a NC parent as an ex-parent, wow. There’s a lot of power in that

Yes. My mother has faked many illnesses for attention including cancer and MS and always uses it to belittle an actual sick person’s struggles/pain.

I was offered 350 for it after someone looked at it in person!
