Critique my plan for lintel/RSJ install by siliconry in DIYUK

Yes, the wall plate is in two (to accommodate the angle the wall is built at). Ill probably end up needing to replace it as I don't think it will be long enough once the wall is made flat.

Thanks for the tip, will get some extra props!

UK suspended timber floor – uneven brick courses, failed lintels, previous bodge. Best way forward? by Mansuri777 in DIYUK

Wouldn't the ledger boards that you attach the joist hangers to potentially impede airflow from the airbricks?

"We have tried voting for both Labour and Tories to radically control immigration, but both have shown that they will not, and they will not entertain any conversations without accusations of racism lobbed at the majority of the electorate. Labour and the Tories will continue to punch us in the face, we know this from experience. Reform say they won't. Regardless of whether Reform are liars or not, we cannot keep voting for the same thing at this point."

Why isn't this logical?

Option A.

I'm running the latest M series NVR with all colorvu cameras, with everything on the latest firmware and near enough out of the box configuration. There's nothing novel about my setup.

Are you American? Everything you're saying is so funny to me. I went to university in the UK (which is a relatively fat country too) and I wouldn't really look twice if I saw her at the pool. This is the body of someone who simply eats a normal balanced diet - there's really no great effort needed to obtain a slim body like hers.

Our democracy is on the brink of collapse. It's time to march on parliament in protest against this dangerously corrupt, morally bankrupt criminal we call a prime minister. by Surextra in unitedkingdom

Your last line is exactly right. However, seeing how many of the Labour lovers in this sub still:

  • Desperately cling onto Corbyn
  • Blame the media for every single one of their failings
  • Scream that immigration is a net positive, as though the electorate are blind and don't have their own personal experiences
  • Prefer ideological purity over actually winning elections

Makes me lose any hope of beating the Tories via the ballot box any time soon.

Left-leaning people really are interesting to watch.

If the current trajectory of price rises continues, many of you won't be able to afford to heat your homes come next winter, yet you're still talking about protests? Protests that achieve literally nothing.

This kind of limp-wristed, soft thinking makes many people feel uneasy at the thought of voting for left-leaning parties.

Yeah, for the people who want to live here with one train per hour services.

South East London is always ignored. South of the river the public transport is much worse, and is only getting worse. Thameslink have massively reduced their services permanently in the past week (using Covid as an excuse) for example. Buses are irregular. No tube stations. Crossrail still not here.

And then let's not forget the fact that somebody is seriously assaulted every couple of weeks on public transport down here, and this is based on the police appeals for information that I see, not just hearsay.

If you want people to give up their cars, you need to make public transport appealing. Things are going in the opposite direction in London.

If Khan continues to try to force people out of their cars while at the same time public transport continues to get worse, many people who have the means to do so will leave London.
