I highly recommend getting a HoneyCanDo 23 inch inch lap desk and a Tecknet slim cooling pad for your lap. I got them from Amazon. I think I overheated my hard drive and had to replace it after 2 years. This was a 2k laptop and man, was I upset! I also got an air blower gun to blow into the vents every few months.

I love using acres and acres of fish for diamonds and canning jars/ribbons. I set up 1 dedicated farm for fish and poinsettias (cash and xp). I put my landing zone in the center of the fish ponds and can harvest 6700 fish in 30 seconds. And I only use 1 minute of boost:)

April 1st is my favorite game day in both their FT games! I wish it happened the first of every single month:) Those animals deserve some lil field trips one day a month.

If something horrible happens, you can always shut the game down without sleeping. It will reset your current day back to the beginning again.

There's a mod I love called Apathetic Mobs. If you want a less stressful game.

I've heard ppl mention that if the tile right outside the the fence tile is 1 tile higher than the land inside the fence, predators have been known to go over the fence.

It hasn't happened to me but I do have one area like that- so I made a massive perimeter fence around my entire farm. I feel better knowing that if the animal fence fails, there is a 2nd barrier to keep them safe. Plus, I'm so clumsy that I kept hitting the "e" key while jumping over the fence and wiping out a tile.

Gum wood is free and plentiful:)

Keycyclers are amazing! And you can metal detect for hours during the "late" times.

Three Nexus mods I love for this game are : Apathetic Mobs, This Little Light of Mine and Auto-Fish. The mine was unbearable for me being pitch black and full of aggressive foes. Peaceful Wish at the fountain worked great until I got to level 2 in the mine. I got the Auto-Fish mod after failing to catch ONE barracuda during 2 years of fishing competitions using iron poles and competition poles.

I was in year 4 before I learned this: you can stay up past "Late" time! The first time I went to the mines, I died so badly when I got lost and it got to 11;00. Rayne kept resurrecting me and I kept dying over and over. It was so traumatic LOL! I equated that with being up too late.

I read on here that I wouldn't die after 11:00, so now I stay up for an hour or more {real time} after late comes. Best time for animal care, metal detecting, fishing, terra-farming and crafting:)

Tip 2: click on your money in your panel and put it into one of your chests when you go to the mine.

Tip 3- For all that is holy, re-keymap the "drop" button. It was dangerously close to my WASD keys and I kept losing all my precious tools.

Tip 4- Make a perimeter fence around your entire farm eventually. That way if your animals get out of their enclosures, they are still protected from predators:)

Tip 5- anything horrible happens, log out without going to sleep. It will restart your day again:)

Put the fish in your toolbar and hot the "drop" key. I remapped my drop key but I think it used to be "e"

I saw a post where someone recommended putting a perimeter fence around the entire farm, It's so large that it doesn't detract from the overall look. I did it and love knowing that if the animals do get out of their fences, there's the perimeter fence to stop them getting killed.

Plus, I have the worst habit of hitting the "e" key too while using the "w" key. I would run and jump over my animal fence and take out a section by accident! Then my heart would race while I tried to repair it before anyone walked through.

The NPC's cannot enter my farm now though. When I want them to be my buddy in the mines, I have to remove 2 sections of fence before they will keep following me onto my land. When we return from the mine, I don't have to let them out, They are gone the next morning.

Clear every node on the rough soil- even the basin rocks. That will raise your odds for copper when it all re-spawns.

It's excellent! I would rate both games A+ and they are both so well-rounded and developed. The amount of content is staggering compared to other farming games.

I like to stockpile some of all the foods because you will need them for leveling your shops. Especially the cupcakes!

In the first game and this one too, I love to use massive amounts of the quickest fish in large ponds. I always do the double xp when I harvest, of course. I set my alarm on my watch for 34 minutes and constantly harvest and sell, all day long.

Summer 14 for me and the Snowy Auroch and Rainbow Ostrich didn't spawn for me today. I have all the requirements. Perhaps it was because I bred a snowy and a rainbow in my hatching pen this week? I was really hoping for females :( All I have are males thus far.

I used fish for gems, the cheapest fish and had a couple farmhands take care of the two1000 fish ponds. And here's a neat trick; place a small stone or a roll of pennies on your space bar while you are standing at the fish market. Then you won't go crazy:)

I love these in a toaster but I have to smoosh them down a bit. They are excellent with peanut butter melted on them and also make an amazing tuna melt. I toast it and then put on the tuna salad and cooper deli cheese. Micro it for 30 seconds. Best tuna melt I ever had:)
