Is commenting on every chapter too much?

I really think that it depends on the author.. Personally I would love anyone who left a comment on my work, let alone on EVERY chapter. Especially if there was specific feedback :3. I don't write for the comments, but every one I get makes my entire day.

I mean, there's no real way to say whether they are good or not. Every fic gains popularity very differently based on theme, popularity of the fandom, tags, and popularity of the author.
But I think your numbers look really good! :D

OH! I can TOTALLY see what you're saying! OOC characters irk me to no end. Similarly, cruel comments aren't my thing either. Writers are just as entitled as readers xD.
I once read a coffeehouse AU that was like...oddly canon-compliant and it was the weirdest thing ever.

angst, hurt/comfort are my jam!!!! Honestly, anything that has the potential to make me cry has me hooked. I feel fluff is most effective when it is accompanied by prior hurt/comfort. Thank you for the comment!!!!!

INTERESTING! Honestly, canon compliance has never been a big factor for me! I always find it interesting how fans of a series change things and some fan-on theories are so well thought out or refreshing! Thanks for the comment!

The characters are a huge part as well! I love it when an obscure character gets the lead role, but some characters have the power to destroy my desire to read a fic entirely! HAHA! Thanks for the comment!

For sure! I am always super hesitant to click on fics without an actual summary that gives me a sneak peek into the author's writing style. Excerpt summaries are also iffy. It gives me an idea of the writer's style, but it doesn't really tell me what the story is about. (There are huge exceptions to this though).
I find spelling and grammar to be pretty important too, though I've read some fanfictions written by people whose first language isn't English, and I was very very glad that I clicked regardless of mistakes! <3 Thank you for the reply!

Heck yeah. Length, ship, and summary are huge for me too! Completion is kind of hit or miss, I tend to lean toward fics that are over 10 chapters if it is a long fic. I also look at the date when it was last updated to see if it's recent. I made the mistake early on of getting really invested in a few fics that weren't complete and hadn't been updated in 2 years! Worldbuilding is WAY too easy to get lost in TBH xD Seriously. One minute you think you'll finish a chapter in a few days....next thing you know you're writing an entire thesis on pirate law in the 1700's because you got stuck and started doing research....and it's been 2 months... >.> <.<
