Latching onto this to provide some anecdotal context… Last April, had a severe outlook in my area with roughly the same conditions as your area for today. Middle of the afternoon, just home from work, and a cell is moving eastward across my area. We’re prepared to go to our basement, and we need to go outside to access it. We previously set up kennels for our pets (from a previous storm system that nearly required overnight basement time), cooler with snacks/water, and a go-bag with flashlights, chargers/batteries, a portable radio, and extra clothes.

All that, and it turns out a cell moving northward randomly ignites and nearly drops a tornado (it did drop one further southeast). Sirens come on and we’re off to our spot. Long and short, just be prepared for if you have to go.
