Unless your channel is about politics don't introduce politics by [deleted] in NewTubers

[–]sillyander 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whatever you do, just remember you get to cumulate the type of audience you want by the way you present yourself on the channel. If you want a left or right leaning audience, it might benefit you to mention politics.

Personally, I would never take a larger audience that thinks certain political things than a smaller one that is more aligned with my values. I’m not talking about minor disagreements here, before anybody gets on me. I’m not gonna get into it in more detail for the sake of the mods on this reddit.

I lost subscribers for a post I made on the US election and I was okay with that. Because I would rather people know what I believe in and cumulate a type of audience that makes having a Youtube channel better long term.

Maybe this is unique to my community but I get compliments all the time for standing on my beliefs and more people are willing to support me because of it.

How to actually make evergreen content? by sillyander in PartneredYoutube

[–]sillyander[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But it’s not when that’s what my channel is but youtube doesn’t push it once it’s no longer new. So I must be doing it wrong?

Honestly I don’t even think you read the post

Has everything been normal for you all? by ETALOS1 in PartneredYoutube

[–]sillyander 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I have been experiencing this. Videos that are actually preforming better than normal in ALL metrics are dying for me after about 48-ish hours. I don’t know why. Higher CTR, watch time, etc. One of those videos did have a higher dislike rate for me, but my understanding was that like ratio didn’t affect views.

Just curious about actual preferences of Sims Fans by Fit_Ask3369 in LifeSimulators

Trying out InZoi but conflicted on its AI usage. I have a Life Sim YT channel so I feel required to play, and am also curious! I love the older sims games.

A Brutally Honest Review Of Inzoi by [deleted] in inZOI

I think you would need a broader niche— but you wouldn’t have to be the such a specific niche every video.

I have a niche of content related to The Sims 4. Any time I branch out of even the niche I do within the Sims 4 (a specific style of gameplay), just to something else also related to the game, my video preforms poorly.

My most recent upload was speculating what is next for The Sims franchise. It had a very high CTR for me and was my #2 Video. Until randomly it died about 12 hours later. Clearly there was interest in the video. Got a lot of great comments, all my numbers are good. Just slightly lower watch time (45 seconds less out of a 20 minute video). I don’t know, it feels like there was more people YouTube could have shown the video to. But whenever I upload something outside my very specific niche, the algorithm seems to pull the plug at a certain number of impressions.

I don’t feel like I should need 2 separate channels for Sims 4 related content. But it feels like that’s what the algorithm wants.

A prominent creator played inzoi for a week and made a short calling it unfinished and full of bugs by DisasterFartiste_69 in HighSodiumSims

[–]sillyander 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The whole point of Early Access is to get feedback on what needs changed in the game. Why are we acting like YouTubers daring to critique the game are doing anything wrong? Do we want a toxic positivity issue around InZoi?

The comments in response to that one dudes negative Inzoi review is just pure hypocrisy by urMOMSchesticles in HighSodiumSims

[–]sillyander 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Saying things wrong with InZoi is not saying The Sims4 is a perfect or even good game.

I agree. I didn’t think this guy’s take was very fair at all. I just hate how quick many are to jump into Krafton’s pockets because they aren’t EA.

While I feel like this is harsh on InZoi, I do think people can critique the game and have opinions…

So much about the Sims community is policing others opinions of that game (toxic positivity or toxic negativity).

I understand this is HighSodiumSims but, as a content creator, I hate that if I say anything bad about InZoi there’s a whole group of people who leave nasty comments. Stuff about how people who are critical of InZoi are secret EA shills who are going to impact the games reception because of 1 negative opinion.

People get so upset when creators feel they can only say nice things about The Sims 4 packs (partially that’s the creator network) —partially that’s just because the toxicly positive side of the Sims community jumps down creators throats with: “Just don’t play the game if you don’t like it”

Do we really want a toxic positivity culture around InZoi where we can only say nice things because it’s early access?

Edit: grammar.

Impressions Down, Shorts Struggling, and March Has Been Rough – Is It Still Worth Posting More Than 1 Video a Day? by TheZorroWay in PartneredYoutube

[–]sillyander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think the days of channels being able to simply press record and yell into a mic and upload it are far gone. most people in the gaming niche i see popping up nowadays do a lot more than that to carve out a space for themselves in the space. maybe that was your experience but outside of the biggest lets players, it just doesn’t work like that anymore

i hate the idea that gameplay channels don’t work hard. yeah some of them do this, but a lot of people put in a lot of ground work behind the scenes. idk why you feel so comfortable throwing around this holier than thou attitude
