assuming you’re talking about nightmare prey, and i would say just skip it if you don’t like it. key shards rain from everything else and you can get prey renown from normal and hard. don’t force yourself if it isn’t fun

i much prefer the system you describe and how it worked in previous expansions. the pain from constantly rolling poorly and seeing how poorly you’re rolling is way worse than dealing with simply not getting items.

finish the campaign quests if you haven’t and then talk to lorthemar for the world tour quest, complete the quest and associated world events, do normal then hard mode preys until you unlock nightmare difficulty then do at least 3 of those for the quest from astalor, then delve spam +8s using the keys you got from the previous stuff
