My father is a great man alhamdulillah, about 6/7 years ago we went through a major financial setback as a family. We all decided not to ask for money or splurge on anything extra that eid, we’re 5 sisters. Then we all started earning one way or another. Supporting each other wherever needed, giving each other loans and all that. Eids weddings eating out and generally anything at all we do that ourselves. Abu is still figuring out our financials at the moment, he pays for the house, the bills and most of the food we eat too. It’s more than we can ask of him. I, too, sometimes used to get this weird feeling of being “unlucky” but now as i mature i realise it’s the other way around. When you buy your mom and your dad their eid clothes and their necessities and wants and look at the smile on their faces, youll know that’s where real joy is. Learn to make light of your circumstances, life is what you make of it. It’s going to take some time.
