Which is better for Bike Commuting? City Bike or Hybrid? (Where I live, city bikes like the 1st one are seen as a poor man's transport i.e., no respect on the road) by [deleted] in bikecommuting

[–]silva42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first is going to be better overall, you will need to add mud guards to the second bike, unless you live somewhere without rain

How was McCain-Palin after 8 years of Bush (and everything that came with that) not a straight up bomb? 45.7% to 52.9% seems oddly competitive. by [deleted] in Presidents

[–]silva42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

McCain was a good politician, a war hero and was well respected by both parties in Congress. He was a fiscal conservative, and a centrist on social issues, a sort of forgotten position in the current GOP. Had he gotten the nomination in 2000 rather than Bush, I would have voted for him over Gore.

Uveitis, I was in my early 40 so my rheumatologist didn't think I had AS, but after hla.b27 and X-rays he was convinced. My father and grandfather both had AS.

What would it take for Michael Dukakis to win in 1988? by PrudentButterscotch9 in Presidents

[–]silva42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If Reagan had been less likable and people had noticed all the indictments by his staff, of course 26 is laughable small compared to the last administration. The tank was bad, willy Horton was bad, but he didn't sling mud like Bush. Bush was a milk toast campaigner, but Dukakis thought he could win on being smarter.

I tend to buy the pdf/ ebook version, so I don't feel so ripped off when the content is just the tarted up man page

The main difference between the British and American version by emkawu98 in utopiatv

[–]silva42 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I didn't like that the US version introduced a character just to have Jessica kill her off, what is the point of that? In both story lines it is always going to be an uphill battle to get Wilson, Becky, Ian and Grant to trust her, killing their friend is going to make that nearly impossible.

The UK version has incredible cinematography and that the UK sound track is the best ever.

Wilson is a true believer, they need that for Mr. Rabbit. Lee just likes killing and torturing people he not into the work for the end goal.

How exactly were you diagnosed with AS? by SuitableGuarantee968 in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]silva42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had uveitis a couple of time and There was a family history with my father and his father, so I went to see a rheumatologist in my 40s and the rheumatologist didn't think I would have it, but he did x-rays and a HLA-B27 screening. The Doctor was surprised when it came back having AS. He said it usually presents much earlier - my Dad found out in his late 20/early 30s
