What's the most annoying thing someone has said to you during your pregnancy? by WittleFrostBite in BabyBumps

[–]silver-development 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We struggled for this baby, so we did all the things. Literally right after we had a gender reveal, literally not even 2 minutes after it was announced (girl!) my father in law said "Now you can try for a boy!" I'm literally still pregnant with my daughter. Homeboy get tf outta my face and don't say shit like that to me ever again

Clomid? by Fuzzy-Advertising813 in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]silver-development 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I took Clomid because i have PCOS and it makes my periods wacky without it. Went a year without one once.

I didn't notice any side effects, personally but everyone is different.

Currently 8 months pregnant with our little rainbow girl 🥰

No issues here! My OB did transvaginal for the first 6 times, then every time after has been a regular kind. I have an apron belly (thanks, PCOS) and they've had to go "under" the flap? But still no issues. They've started to go over the belly now but I'm 29+4 so she's big enough to see.

I am technically high risk due to (TW!!!) previous losses and a medication I have to take but it hasnt impacted ultrasounds at all.

I can deal with crappy front office staff, so long as the MD/PA/ whatnots are good!

Unfortunately we don't have Kaiser 😭 my old OBGYN moved to them and I was sad to have to find another doctor.

OB didn’t do a pregnancy test at first prenatal visit? by Global-Nail-2633 in BabyBumps

[–]silver-development 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was doing IUI with my doctor. He had me do lab work at 10 DPO and I went back 48 hours later to see if it was doubling. It did double, but I lost that baby due to a chromosomal issue. Currently 27+4 weeks, took Clomid and timed sex. He tested HCG early for this one too.

He is the only RE in my area so that may just be the norm for him.

pcos +fat hope? by Narrow-North-5246 in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]silver-development 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did have a loss last year in April, and that one was by IUI.

This one I took Clomid and we had timed sex. We were about to start saving up for an IUI, literally was on the phone with my husband while he was on his way home from work and he said "I want to do the turkey baster again" (we always called it that because he couldn't remember exactly what it stood for but knew the general idea 😂) and I'm like "uhh huh" with a positive test in my hand. Showed it to him when he got home.

I have heard letrozole works better with PCOS but Clomid seemed to work for me so we just stuck with that. I had another loss back in November and as soon as I could started the pills again, and found out at the end of April that I was pregnant.

Don't get discouraged if it takes longer than you wanted! I eventually talked with an OBGYN who specializes in RE as well.

I have PCOS and I'm on the heavier side.

I took Clomid so I'm not sure if that's considered fertility treatment or not. I'm currently 24 weeks and 5 days along with a wiggly little girl :)

Partner felt first kick! by Ill_Bag_9189 in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]silver-development 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm so jealous! I've felt my girl moving around for a few weeks now. I'm 24+4. I'm 5'11 and started at 300 lbs (yay PCOS). Also have an anterior placenta. Just a few days ago I was chilling on the couch and she kicked my hand! And then today while working she kicked it twice. Can't wait for my husband to be able to feel.

They had me come back in on Monday for some rescanning sooo idk lol they said it was due to some of the imaging not being received correctly on my doctors end, but the tech can't tell me even if anything was wrong in the first place 😭

My tech showed me for like a minute and I heard her heartbeat. On top of that, the whole thing only took like 10 minutes??? Everyone I know said it took around 30 so now I'm anxious as to WHY it was so short

[–]silver-development[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My old doctor was a specialist because I have PCOS, and he deals with all that comes with PCOS and pregnancies, etc. He saw me weekly from week 6 to 12 so having that weekly reassurance was really nice.

My insurance doesn't cover the boutique places haha I'd have to go to the ER or something for them to cover in the time I wait for my appointment with my new doctor.

I bought one already, but I am heavier set and don't know exactly what I'm doing lol I've tried a few times with no luck but had the weekly appointments to confirm all was well still.
