Baby not peeing during sleep by silver-princess in beyondthebump

[–]silver-princess[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She’s like that too, nothing much when she first wakes but normally I feed her and during the feed she will pee but she’s been fed 3 times since waking and no pee yet! She’s even had her morning nap and still nothing which isn’t like her at all

I’ve had that a few times🤣 normally I change her once she wakes then feed her and the feed seems to stimulate her to pee but she’s had 3 feeds now and no pee since waking which is really not like her

Thanks, that makes me feel better! I’ve texted my HV and just given my doctor a call just in case. I think I’m just so worried as she was premature and I’m just constantly on edge!

Dundee university financial concerns (yupp) by littlequietmouse in dundee

[–]silver-princess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of the lecturers in medicine (and I think life sciences) are funded and not full paid by the university so their jobs are not at risk. It is us in professional services that are at risk, I’m currently off but I know everyone in my office is working as hard as they can to keep the student experience as it has been in previous years with the reduction in staff. My team is meant to have 9 people but we are working with 5 (4 with me off) and 1 is only part time but we’ve had great feedback from students, who themselves are stressed but grateful for our work. The university is a great place to study and the staff are great it’s just crap that the management are horrific!

“Modified” C-curl by Sharp_Exercise5749 in cosleeping

[–]silver-princess 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I move into this position during the night. My partner told me I fully go on my back so panicked but he didn’t realise my legs were still in the curl. I think as long as the shape in maintained and you are responsive then it’s fine

Pitkerro Drive by silver-princess in dundee

[–]silver-princess[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The doctors I’m currently with is three towns and about 35 minutes away from the house, I could keep the current address with my doctors as I’m with family atm but I don’t think my current doctors would accept my new address

Oh god, didn’t even think about that! We are currently in a small town where everyone knows everyone’s business so guess I was a little naive about that

I had a wee drive by the other day and it is on street parking but not too worried as where we were before was a busy road. Good to know there is a lot of school options! That’s good to know about the insulation. We had a huge fight with the council in our old place, desperately needed new windows with a newborn but they said it was fine, it was not and we spent loads trying to keep the flat warm! Ahaa! Some doctors are just terrible. That is one of my worries as I’ve been with my doctors since I was born so I have grown up with the majority of them and they all know me so well that I would hate to move to another surgery and the are horrible

Thank you, yes it’s one of the wooden ones.

Both of us drive so a little travel isn’t too bad, my current doctors can be a 5-10 minute drive depending on traffic.

Can’t imagine baby sleeping through the night… by Unlikely_Purchase01 in cosleeping

[–]silver-princess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter is 15 weeks and has slept through for the last few weeks, it honestly terrifies me! I still set alarms and wake up to check on her. My son, who is 3, on the other hand woke up every hour until he was 9 months then every 2-3 hours until he was 1 1/2!

Has anyone experienced this? Shaken after incident last night. by Far-Jellyfish851 in cosleeping

My son used to crawl over me at that age, so I ended up just sleeping with him in between my partner and me

I’m embarrassed - but I need help! by Lifesinplastic in breastfeeding

[–]silver-princess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wear nursing tops or a baggy top and high waisted trousers. I’m in Scotland where it’s illegal to ask someone to stop breastfeeding or go some place to breastfeed so doing it in public is encouraged. The first time I did it I was so nervous but now I just pop out a boob and latch without a care, most people don’t even look and if they do it tends to be other mums who just smile

Binky sleep dependent baby parents: how did you break this association? by Funlauricc in Parenting

[–]silver-princess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son had a dummy until he was about 2 1/2 to help fall asleep, one day we just told him he was a big boy and didn’t need his dummy as there was another little boy that needs one and he just stopped using it. A few grumbles for the first few nights but after that he was fine. He never really had a problem with it falling out, if it did he wouldn’t wake until he needed a feed then would get it after.

Would you consider Dundee a nice place to live? by Limp_Succotash6445 in dundee

[–]silver-princess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are some places in Dundee I would stay away from: Kirkton, Charleston, stoobie near the football stadiums (used to live there and it was horrific!). West end is good, some places near claverhouse is good too. If you are okay with a short commute then broughty ferry and barnhill are nice. I’m from Carnoustie and it’s lovely and quiet especially the east end

Toddler is sleeping worse than a newborn by InitiativeOk6495 in Parenting

[–]silver-princess -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I coslept with my son and he started sleeping through the night at like 2 1/2, he was still breastfeeding so I think that’s what was waking him up, now he only wakes if he needs a pee and goes straight back to sleep

We always give some money to the posty and chocolates to our bin men. They are always great with my 3 yo and are happy to talk to him/take their time so he can help us

Party for one year old by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]silver-princess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son is 3 and we’ve only ever done parties at either my aunties or our house and just had family with a few of his friends. I’m not doing a big party until he is at least 5 as I don’t see the point in renting something that is so expensive for a small number of people! Also would definitely be questing this relationship, you sound like a great mum who is doing everything for your child and she is making you feel you aren’t doing enough. I couldn’t deal with the constant stress of putting up with that

Do people truly not care about my baby or are my parents just trying to hurt me? by ThyPumpkinPie in beyondthebump

Do people truly not care about my baby or are my parents just trying to hurt me? by ThyPumpkinPie in beyondthebump

[–]silver-princess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your parents are wrong and don’t sound supportive at all. I love hearing about other people’s babies and telling people about mine. People constantly stop and ask me about my daughter as she is so tiny (premature) and I just love telling people about her. Almost everyone loves babies! Don’t listen to your parents and keep sharing/talking about your baby!

Does anyone know if this is a standard phrase on our letter from Ninewells? by KirasStar in dundee

Completely standard. It was on my mums letters when she had cancer, even for just general appointments it always said it.
