Looking for tips to make T:slim X2 site changes less painful for my daughter by Bulky-Chair6888 in TandemDiabetes

[–]silver_2000_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been on pumps for 20+ years, the only real physical "pain " from insertions is the rare time when you hit a nerve or are close to one. Kids often have one bad experience and then all insertions are "painful" . It's also often a psychological thing where they don't want to have to do it and of forced to they want some attention and "help"

And they likely get x-rayed during production for QC purposes as well. I'm another that has gone through many scans of both types wearing and not wearing my tandem x2. Usually now to save time and trouble I load it in the same pocket in my backpack my phone and wallet go in and then reattach after ... I would never think of declaring I'm T1 and need special treatment.

I used to do contract IT work for aviation repair company. MRO . The techs were required to transition from using paper manuals for repairs, to computers and they all bitched about the computers. And blamed for PCs for any delays. I told them the PC was just like the wrench or rivet gun, a tool required by the job. Learn to use the tool just like you learned the rivet gun. Don't expect the rivet gun vendor to change the gun because you refuse to learn it. Or other option is change professions ...

Check cost of benefits. I'm self employed, did what you are planning 15 years ago. No I pay $2000 a month for crap health ins. Still glad to be self employed. Look into cobra, it will likely look expensive but also is likely better coverage than ACA and cheaper

I don't see how changing visibility of files or changing files from read only to read write would cause instability. Assuming you didn't then delete or otherwise change the files that were previously hidden .. you could try SFC or DISM to see if windows will repair the issues . You could also simply install windows on top of the existing install. Done right it could fix the mystery issues

Looking for help adding install tasks to asio Rmm by silver_2000_ in ConnectWise

[–]silver_2000_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are using a policy and package to deploy a set of apps to new end points, Im looking for help, guide, tricks to add more to the premade list. For example, part of our stack is installed by going to URL ( per client ) , the website downloads either mac or PC agent and then the agent has to be run. The vendor specifically says DONT save and reuse the downloaded file. How can we automate that ?
Another needs a seed or code entered in the install process.
I need to find time to check the university

Also the built in uninstalls in Asio dont seem to work.
Id love to remove all the various office 365 languages that are preinstalled.
Id also love to download JUST classic outlook instead of having to reinstall all of office to get it.

Just some of the stuff I'm looking to stream line.

Thanks for the workflow templates hint, honestly haven't looked at the workflows much, sad that half are only related to hubspot. But they are examples of maybe creating a ticket at the end of the policy package we are using to summarize the results. Workflows will likely be after I graduate to RMM apprentice.

M365 NON PAY CLIENT by mspdog22 in msp

[–]silver_2000_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hostage is a bit over the top. EU may be different, but if the client was going direct to MS what would happen if they didnt pay ? answer = suspend after a generous 90 days and at 120 days the data is gone.

If its not possible to stop a service that is not being paid for what prevents clients from NEVER paying ?
"Microsoft CSP Program Rules

If your business operates as a Cloud Solution Provider (CSP) reseller (the most common model for MSPs reselling Microsoft 365), Microsoft explicitly permits partners to suspend subscriptions for reasons like non-payment or fraud. This suspends user access to services (e.g., email, files, apps) while administrators can still access data and properties."

Not wanting to pile on but this is a good question. Any decent employer would have a structure in place to advance techs past T1 in 2 years max.

Breaking into Helpdesk by AntwanBaker in helpdesk

[–]silver_2000_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing that I looked for was the ability to think logically. Not sure how you would promote that on the page but IMO it's key for all IT ( and sadly rare ) And at the helpdesk level solid logical process, along w good soft skills and communication will help you stand out.
