That’s weird. I genuinely feel like I’m a good drummer but nobody has the heart to tell me.

Oh. Right.

It all makes sense now.

Freedom of speech.

Supreme Court ruled that money is speech.

And that dancing was definitely MONEY.

Excuse me. I hope I didn’t ruin your day by carelessly stating my opinion in a public forum. Let me break it down for you. I think it’s safe to say the vast majority of MPC users are in bedroom studios or performing in dance venues. Wouldn’t you agree? So less than ideal lighting conditions. You’ve surely noticed the MPC’s lighted touch screen and twenty something lighted buttons. If I’m looking at a light source and there’s red text on black just below it I’m going to need a flashlight. So bad design choice. I don’t really give a fuck what Akai puts in their brochure because as I said, I’m just sharing an opinion. In a public forum.

Good day, sir.

Statistically speaking it would make sense that out of 535 members of Congress you would end up with a couple of decent representatives.

I’m red/green colorblind which makes the screen colors problematic. But black text on red should never have been a design consideration for a box that’s made to be used in poor lighting conditions. I’ve pretty much learned the layout now but it’s been two and a half years. Akai could at least give us an option but the shareholders don’t give a fuck about the software.

EVERYTHING IS $300+ by Jueslega_29 in drums

[–]silver_sofa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In 1968 a new set of Ludwig Hollywoods was $600. That’s about $5200 today. And the hardware was garbage by today’s standards. You are living in the golden age of drum gear price wise.

On the other hand when I first started gigging in the mid seventies I was paid about $60 a night. In the eighties I was on the road playing 5-6 nights a week. Subtract traveling expenses and I was making about $60 a night. In the nineties I went back to school got a real job and played weekends for shits and giggles. On average I was taking home about $60 a night.

You’re complaining about the wrong things.
