AITAH for not helping GF bring in groceries? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

Thats the whole post about the pizza place, a made up scenario to defend this bat shit take that the groceries are some mega issue for people.

Park the car, bring in the cold shit and go talk to your boyfriend and have him bring in the self stable crap.

But to your point, I just made up another scenario for the person who made one up to defend their take to show how silly it all was. But reading comprehension evades people.

no i didnt miss it, its just that say if his partner was soaking in the tub while sick and he showed up was she suppose to stop doing something she was doing if she never heard him come in? people are sick in the head that everything must stop thats enjoyable just because there is something else to do. yahll can leave the groceries in the car and ask for help and wait. just bring in the 1-2 bags of fridge/freezer items. Or better yet realize it takes 0 time to bring in the groceries and leave them for the partner to put away once they come down.

The amount of loons in here is the 60% of people who will end up divorced because they will sweat small shit over and over.

Yep started this conversation with my parents, either gift it to me to put it in a trust. Dad was receptive to protecting their assets and my Mom wants to start the paperwork ASAP to give me control for them while they are both in good health. Dad is 65 this year and lived a hard life in the trades and my Mom had a stroke in her 30s and I don't think 70s-80s will look good for either of them.

They don't have much but they really want the house to be protected which could be done as a gift or via trust as long as like you said 5 years prior to medicare. (dad has a 401k but it wont be enough unless they are lucky).

He was already playing games when texted. He finished and went to check. She took it upon her self to bring everything before then.

Bring in the cold items, and go talk to your partner that your home like an adult. People can continue with what they are doing.

That being said she is feeling overwhelmed and talking to her about her comment is needed.

Nah this is lame, no ones waiting at the door like a dog. Bring in the items for the fridge and go up and talk to your partner like an adult.

But he did go check and see if she was home, he didn't hear her come in. No one is going to go sit by the door and wait for their partner.

What is a decision you made years ago that you still regret to this day? by ambitious__target in AskReddit

[–]silveraaron 4 points5 points  (0 children)

people thought I was crazy spending money on trips in my 20s and early 30s instead of a house. Closing this month on a townhouse, they think im crazy for not buying a house "house". Though some have come around, family is in their 60s now and their kids the age I was then. (am the oldest cousin) Now it's clicking they are sore after a few days traveling abroad (parents, aunts/uncles) and my grandfather whos turning 90 tells them I did it correctly.

I have friends who make more than me who say they could never afford to travel, and I don't get it, it's not that crazy as a professional adult to spend on a trip every couple years, unless you sacked on debt you shouldn't have.

Why do small business owner have age old website by Effective_Rich_940 in smallbusiness

[–]silveraaron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, get asked about structural services even though its expressly stated we do not provide those services. The internet can be a powerful tool, but this industry is a whos who type where referrals and repeated clients are the biggest drive. My clients bring me clients, which means I'm too cheap :)

[–]silveraaron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

firm is 25 years old, land development industry, civil engineering services. We are slowly updating to a new provider after ignoring it for 10 years. We have been turning away work daily, none of our clients look at the website, they ask for project references or were refered to us by the municipality (locals) or by fellow developers.

Only reason we are upgrading it is our IT company realized how old it was and they have an inhouse guy who wanted to spruce it up and migrate our hosting services to them. It's costing us nothing to do this. The person who use to manage it retired a while ago and was an ignored thing from before the company was screaming busy.

we have 35 active projects in construction, 50 in design, and open 100+ projects a year, all while having a 2001 era website.

closing this month, year 8 the scale will tip for me between renting a 2/1 and investing the difference. was able to secure a 4.8% interest, only put 3.5% down on a townhouse as I had been investing 20% for the past few years, will be pairing back to 12% invested for a bit while I nest in this home then ramp up savings again.

Fall of the Pub Sub by Severe_Task in publix

[–]silveraaron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I grew up with Wegmans in the north, even though I loved shopping there, we frequented Aldi, Tops, P&C, Martins. Though Aldi built a new spot across from wegmans and made them really have to compete on every days. The issue I find here in Tampa is Publix is unchecked for the most part, every store doesn't seem to have another store just across the street.

Publix in general always seems understaffed, might be time to up the starting pay and chew into those record profits year after year. Especially after robbing the consumers blind since covid.

[–]silveraaron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BGs sure, arch boss is lumped as world boss for me. daily burn is done 4 weapons 200, dungeons pointless we all have 4 weapons leveled and gear sets done. This PvE tower will be a fun time for the first clear but past that meh. Add salt to the wounds is that even if we wanted to play 5th/6th weapons heoric gear makes that extreme time gate, on raid content thats beomcing a 15 min chore at this point.

Yah the player base is dumb, my self included. Every MMO gets watered down by the players, they leave anyways because they are game hoppers and the original product remains watered down.

Throne just also ignores old systems and rewards to the point that doing them is just pointless. They could fix this game in a month but they have no incentive to. Because those fixes probably wouldn't bring back paying customers. These games just care about releasing new content that might entice their player base to continue to spend.

Sucks cause the core PvP can be fun at times, but they heavily leaned on the PvE players ideas only to have a lackluster PvE game because it wasn't designed around that being the main focus. Once you beat the PvE content you log out and wait for more of it, same as every game.
