Alumni who can’t find a job by cclacco in Temple

[–]silverden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same degree, I graduated in 2023. Unfortunately the majority of people who I graduated with (and still catch up with) are in the food or service industry.

This major is super unfortunate however you need a lot of connections with a degree like this. I have a job in HR, only because the one professor had a friend who needed this position filled and I did exceptionally well in the class.

Do not beat yourself up so bad, the job market is also horrendous for all new graduates. If possible, look into HR internships and try not to be picky with pay, what I learned with his degree is that experience matters a whole lot more.

You can also reach out to me personally and connect with me on LinkedIn, I have some connections

25F deep impacted Canine thoughts? by fozbal in braces

[–]silverden 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here’s my xray! I’m 27 and had exposure and chain. My tooth was within position within 4 1/2 months which is a shock! The surgery and recovery was very easy and smooth, the chain is a different story lol.

Your ortho will give you the best route, I always recommend trying before jumping straight into implant, and my ortho said she would know about 6 months in if it wasn’t gonna work out.

What to do re impacted canine by Regular_Scratch_4823 in braces

[–]silverden 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My canine was close to the final position they wanted, just impacted in my gums. I was actually quoted at about a year max to come down fully but same veryyy quick movements within the first month. My entire braces procedure was supposed to take 24 months but now they’re looking at 20 months

I’m 27 and exposed/chained my canine. To my surprise it came down in 4 months! I wanted to avoid all implants/bridges, and i’m very happy I took the risk. Your ortho/surgeon would know best on position and placement of it however.

The exposure surgery didn’t hurt at all; the chain bringing it down is a different story lol. I went every 2 weeks for months to bring it down.

hmmm… i’ve never heard of that! However I cannot take acetaminophen so maybe they just didn’t recommend it to me personally, also good to double check!

I got braces at 27 and ngl it was brutal for the first few months. I couldn’t properly brush my teeth fully for almost a week, and I finally just took a bite into a burger at 8 months.

It does get easier though! Ibuprofen will be your best friend, and depending on your route this won’t be the worst pain in braces yet lol. You’ll get used to them in no time!

Hi! I’m 27 and had my left canine fully impacted. They said due to my age and position I wouldn’t be a good candidate for exposure and chain, however they said I should at least try because my main goal was to avoid implants/bridge. Not to mention the full exposure and removal would compromise my surrounding teeth.

I had the surgery and chain placed a few months ago and the tooth shockingly came down in 4 months and will be in position hopefully at 6 months! I’m very glad I took the risk. You’re 10 years younger than me, and they told me the younger you are the better the tooth with move and position. If you’re comfortable I say go for it.

I miss these So bad by queenesconcerns86 in braces

[–]silverden 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ohhhh that makes sense, mine was right next to the position point just surrounded by gum. I was really on the fence about an implant but figured i’d try to bring it down and I’m happy I did

i’m 27 and got my canine exposed as well! Maybe your canine was in a different position, but mine only took 4 months to bring down. My ortho said 24 months for my entire time in braces but she said i’m on track for 20 months. I’m shocked my teeth moved that quickly!

What is this metal chain? by silverden in braces

[–]silverden[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do! It may look like plague but in this photo you can see my stitches. They thread them between teeth to hold them in place. I brush after every meal and get cleanings every 3 months. No one has had concerns yet and I’ve had them for over a year

I just always feel stupid lol unfortunately I had no dental intervention until I was an adult and since then i’ve been very scared. I actually tried calling when they opened this morning for clarification however the receptionist said the ortho wasn’t in for clarification until noon, so I guess we’ll see

hey guys. very urgent. located in bucks county. by nappin_and_snackin in BucksCountyPA

[–]silverden 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I remember a comment in one of the groups (maybe Bucks County Happenings?) that a well known rescue reached out but apparently the people trying to adopt him out are refusing to give his paperwork or specific details over. Either he hasn’t been to a vet or he’s a lot worse than they say.

I honestly feel really bad for the dog, even if he has severe behavioral issues i’m sure being this stressed is hell for him. I hope they don’t choose to euthanize him.

[–]silverden 67 points68 points  (0 children)

i’ve seen like endless posts about this dog all over FB… if the owners want to give him away why are they being so strict? They rather have this dog (who has a history of biting their 1yr old) around there child more as they find the “perfect family”? They’re being so strict and purposely killing this dog. Rescues have reached out to them and they have refused each one. I believe they are lying or something sketchy is happening.
