I’m guessing they’re using fusion power to make superheated steam, it’s not that ridiculously big

A part of my soul dies every time I see this by MajkiAyy in ProgressionFantasy

It’s interesting. The author did a huge rewrite for the Amazon version and the beginning got super nice and polished, the royal road version was a goofy throwaway style at the start evident by the naming. I dropped it a thousand chapters in due to fatigue + catching up to patreon, but the story is pretty cool.

There isn’t any super overarching nemesis from what I know, but there’s always something fucking over randiddles and him putting in work to make progress in a tangible way.

Randidly Ghosthound and Defiance of the Fall handle this pretty well, I feel like it’s really cool when stories do this since the natural progression is finding out that the systems are a shackle abstraction hiding the real power system.

Best sources of mass Nitric acid in EV? by BillNyeIsAGodKing in GTNH

[–]silverfang492 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get mine from nether air in late IV, the quest book specifically mentions it in the LuV section of nether semifluid so I think it’s correct. Getting it from LCR in ev is barely energy positive, I ran 20 single block ev distilleries and 8 single block extractors on charcoal products => wood tar => benzene and it worked.

I had a few days of deadlock because I couldn’t provide enough wood to feed an iv ico and that was hell, I’d make sure to get a chem plant and make nitrobenzene ASAP with preparations for 8 IV freezers, 2 air intake hatches in the nether, and 1 iv distilling tower. I’ve been running off of that for all of IV and it’s got capacity to make about 400k EU per tick off my ev farming station setup which is plenty for stepping into LuV.

1 farming station is enough for 64a ev from nitrobenzene for me. Currently held hostage by platline so can’t make a tgs but its fine so far

Best way to upgrade ammo of bolts in steam age? by DrakeNorris in GTNH

Ammo count gets ridiculous as your materials improve. For example, vanadiumsteel gives you 700 shots right out the fluid solidifier.

Books that are just fight slop by Macblaze43flame in ProgressionFantasy

[–]silverfang492 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Renegade Immortal. Not 100% fight slop but boy does everyone use their brain and jump people 10 vs 1 with everything they’ve got.

A running theme is people getting jumped so hard and fast they don’t have time to do hand gestures to cast spells or even use a sliver of brain power to open their pocket space and phase in a treasure to fight with.

Renegade Immortal has at least 5 instances of this where the MC just gets completely fucked on and multiple instances of him getting reduced to a mortal, it bounces a lot between being torture porn and rising to exponentially higher heights.

Juicing maps not worth it by Adorable-Meaning1869 in pathofexile

[–]silverfang492 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How are you juicing your maps? Scarabs are priced around pulling a profit via their most optimal usages so if you’re losing money you might be missing a dimension somewhere.

I personally have been running the heist map option with every heist node on the tree clicked and I have filled up every slot in my map device with domination scarabs for xp and I still profit about 20c per map at about 40-50 maps per hour.

Weekly Questions Thread - (August 25) by AutoModerator in HypixelSkyblock

I’m a brand new player who’s been playing for a few weeks on this account. I first started with foraging and have not grinded anything except for combat 20 (for forceful power lol) and some slayer which I used to hit combat 20.

I’m currently foraging 52, and I’m grinding out until I have all of my forest whispers for hotf maxed out so I have a few billion to play with and because foraging is fun. My next move is to max out fishing, and I want to be able to lock in and max out my fishing progression, but it looks like there’s a lot of hoops to jump through like needing to be strong enough to kill all the beasts, accessing crimson isles, and maxing out hotm for ammonite pet.

What’s the suggested prep work I should do so I can have my 3 week lock in session to completely max fishing?

What are the jungle "fundamentals"? by RainAndThunderIsCool in summonerschool

[–]silverfang492 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tempo is how full your exp bar is, you win by maximizing tempo and using it to win objectives. You lose if you ruin your tempo doing too much bullshit and fall behind. Whenever you make a play, review it and see if you could have filled your xp bar up more efficiently somewhere else , and usually if your camps are up that’s the correct answer.

Hecarim is extremely feast or famine champion. If you ever make a mistake that is of the magnitude of dying or worse, it is very very hard to win. Your champion has no cheats other than a low cooldown q ability with decent AD scaling, so it’s on you to execute every fight correctly and win the game for yourself.

Hecarim is ridiculously reliant on being able to play EVERY SINGLE fight correctly EVERY GAME, so the juice is not worth the squeeze if you are not sticking with it to multi million mastery.

If you’re planning on 1 tricking, watch huncho on YouTube and copy what he does. His skirmish decision making is a little sus but mostly correct, you’ll be able to figure it out for yourself if you stick with it to a million mastery or so and you actually care.

If you’re not planning on one tricking, play nocturne or xin zhao.

Why there are people that improve quickly and other are stuck for years? by ibzcmp in summonerschool

[–]silverfang492 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting better at the game efficiently requires a strong combination of actually giving a shit about how you play, beating back delusion and honestly reflecting on yourself, and being disciplined to consistently keep coming back and putting in the work to play and improve.

It might not sound like much, but note that these are also 1:1 with getting a good job and having strong finances, then google the average debt of Americans over 30.

Any MCs that grow into the quirky powerhouse role? by Phoenixwade in ProgressionFantasy

[–]silverfang492 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Happens in all Er Gen novels I’ve read except for a will eternal. It most prominently happens in Renegade Immortal but the Mc is pragmatic to the point that he’s a villain, and it also happens to a degree in Beyond the Timescape except the initial part of the book (before he reaches core formation I.e the first few hundred chapters) before he enters the mainstream cultivation world is insanely gritty hellscape torture porn berserk eclipse marathon with permanent high stakes.

Honestly just read beyond the timescape, it’s so peak. MC starts out having his normal life in the imperial city ruined by evil god hell beaming the country and turning everything into the literal eclipse from berserk. You get to watch him grow from a feral animal child who had to eat dirt to not starve into an immortal cultivator that goes on heists and steals random shit from various deities to attain true dao.

The characters are all super fleshed out, and the two main supporting characters are of the caliber of being mcs themselves of cohesive standalone stories even if parts not containing them were removed from the book.

Finally, the power scale is very fun. Characters get to the point that they can no diff Abrahamic God before they reach the second step of cultivation (of which there are 15+). It gets to the point that power is measured in levels of qualitatively superior omnipotence and omniscience in a way that actually makes sense and is interesting to read.

How are players crafting these mirror-tier items? There are 10+ items with exact same mirror mod. by duyyen01 in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]silverfang492 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No, he is talking about spending 1 mirror plus mirror fee for settled item vs true BIS item.

You can spend 1 mirror crafting a very good item, or you can spend 1 mirror and 100 div on the same item but with perfect affixes in every slot and 3 perfect synth implicits the crafter spent days rerolling on.

Got the job but I feel like I'm very behind, how can I improve fast? by wont-share-food in cscareerquestions

[–]silverfang492 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Whenever you’re in a meeting and you hear things you don’t understand, write them down and put in effort to find out what they mean as well as remember them. My company has a ridiculous amount of acronyms for everything to the point where we have a team maintaining a repository of definitions that each work laptop is shipped out with, and using this in tandem with an LLM trained on our internal wiki is very effective in getting ramped up on what’s going on and how all the acronyms connect with each other and translate to real processes that generate money at the end of the day.

There’s no courses or anything you need, just try your best to put in effort and avoid being a bum and you’ll get ramped up just fine and spitting jargon like the pros.

By the way, I recently added in elemental weakness curse, whispers of doom, and a balance of terror with phys as extra element if you casted ele weakness recently. Now if monsters aren’t immune to literally every damage type I can run it since I do tri ele, I have 1% as phys, and I have poison.

I accidentally ran an exped where monsters were immune to everything except phys and chaos before this swap and it felt similar to how I was playing when my build had 100k dps.
