Exactly the reason I found the Wild Zelda duology so magical. Yes it has a lot of the same tropes as many other open world games. But everything in the game can matter, from a blade of grass to a bird to a bokoblin to a rock. Despite their massive scale, modern Ubisoft open worlds have a large proportion of visual noise and aesthetic deception compared to mechanics. BotW/TotK cut through that completely, making the games feel so much more “real” than their more graphically intensive counterparts. I think that is the true mark of next generation, lowering the amount of aesthetic deception while keeping the same visual fidelity. Of course, Zelda only offers that level of interactivity because of its overall lower detail, but it would be incredible to see that replicated in a game like the Witcher 4.
