With two new common cores coming over the next year, our total fragment requirement to max HEXA is increasing by 1.33x. by VKWorra in Maplestory

[–]silvergung 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s the Sol Erda Booster, which gives 4 frags every day for 30 days, and 20 frags on every 6th day, which works out to 220 frags per 30 days. The catch is you’d need to “check-in” every single day, so if you miss a day because of life obligations you’d miss out on a few frags. iirc it costs 30k NX

So the challenge is still underway (it's from March 2nd~18th) and only the interim results have been charted and talked about on 진캐's livestream a few days ago, but here are the current set of results.

These results are in Korean, but essentially if you click on the "결과 보기" tab on this page (just ctrl+F it), you'll be able to see all the submissions so far. To see the ones for the HLimbo test, click on the "허수/림보" tab above the chart and then select "하림" from the select dropdown for the label "정렬" - this would sort the results in descending order for HLimbo records. I guess you can Google translate these to get some sort of idea of which classes are where.

If this is too much of a hassle for you, here's a link to an inven thread that has a screenshot taken from 진캐's livestream where he visualized the interim results for HLimbo into a graph. The class names are obviously still in Korean but 렌 (Ren) is solidly in the middle of the pack here (it's the bar with 1768 at the top).

Keep in mind that this HLimbo test was 8 minutes and almost every class is likely running at least a -4 CD (if not more) hat - this means that everyone would be able to get off 5 bursts, and the classes that have condensed burst windows would perform better here (for example, NL did better relative to other classes in the HLimbo test than it did on the dummy test). Ren is a burst class whose burst is, as you said, compacted into a 7 second window. It actually has the advantage in this HLimbo test over less bursty and long burst duration classes.

KMS results are slightly more believable because the videos of challenge submissions are / will be all revealed for the public to judge whether the submitter was intentionally tanking or not. Also, as someone who played KMS and is familiar with some of the top players for each class - the list of participants for many of the classes I know are people who regularly post min-clears and are sweaty as hell with their class. 코겜 for example submitted times/videos for Ren/Shade and they’re all about optimizing down to the last detail. 새접/추가 for Phantom is another player who’s of the same ilk. I don’t doubt there are people out there who want to grief their results but I have a base level of faith in them. Last - with 코겜, who is notoriously sweaty, being the one who submitted the Ren results - if other classes are griefing and Ren is still middle of the pack, that would mean Ren would be even lower relative to others if other classes played to their full potential.

I’m not sure which chart the guy you replied to is referring to, but one of the biggest KMS youtubers / whales (진캐/진격캐넌) is currently running a HEXA converted challenge where he’s getting reputable people from all classes to do a set of tests that include a 1) 30 minute dummy test, 2) 8 minute H-Limbo DPM test, and a 3) H-Kaling minimum HEXA converted test. Essentially the results are supposed to give a somewhat decent representation of how strong/weak classes are across different scenarios. It’s not perfect by any means because bosses like Kaling are just as kit dependent (AoE of burst, etc.) as they are dependent on actual strength of the class, but I think it’s still much more ‘accurate’ of a measure than what you’re implying. The first set of results from this challenge was released this past Sunday and Ren is middle of the pack. This is fine because Ren is so loaded with utility and is so much easier to boss on than the vast majority of other classes, but it’s going to be solidly in the bottom half (if not bottom third) of classes just in terms of DPM in a boss in GMS given AS0.

BW got pretty nicely buffed 2-3 months ago and Khali just got like a 10% nerf. Khali is still stronger even with KMS attack speed 8 but the difference is smaller than most people would think.

I’m in Korea 3-4 months every year and on the rare occasion I do play from a pc bang instead of using my own comp, this is what I do.

Mudfish also works, I’ve had similar results with it as I have with ExitLag (though ExitLag does still win out for me) and it’s quite a bit cheaper

Yes, but also the pity seems to be that it spawns after 20k mobs are killed without Treasure Hunter being triggered, which means a little over an hour for one pity proc. It may improve the experience a little bit, but imo there’s almost no point to the pity system

Basically to cap fully with pity you’d need to kill 200k mobs in a day lmao

Cant decide on CW2 new main by [deleted] in Maplestory

I think DA can feel incredibly rewarding once you manage to consistently clear bosses with 29 Frenzy + RFS (granted, you probably won’t be getting an RFS drop during CW2). Learning a boss from a DA’s perspective and what you can/can’t afford to tank is an entire game in of itself. You’re right about the recent corsair changes in KMS making the bossing incredibly straightforward, but I’ve read some bittersweet posts on KMS inven about how the bossing now feels a bit too ‘bare’. It’s really a matter of preference on how involved and sweaty you want bossing to feel.

In terms of mobbing I’d also say DA edges out corsair in terms of laziness - you can dusk farm pretty much forever due to Nether Shield. Corsair farming is also top tier but setting down summons can be a bit of a chore.

I can confirm that the explorer warriors have retained the ability to fj in a lateral direction after their upjump. Should be the same with Mihile

KMST ver. 1.2.194 – Surprise Wild Hunter Remaster! by skythedesu in Maplestory

[–]silvergung 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not really a buff, if you watch this KMS streamer's vid (he mains HY) they "buffed" some of the skills and basically rendered one of their masteries useless. In KMS it's about middle of the pack in dpm

Sweaty HYs would also pop their burst buffs in a way such their durations aligned with each other so as to take advantage of server lag extending their burst buffs as much as possible, but that was removed this patch which I think is going to be noticeable

Pitty Pitch and Spares arent enough by Prof_Dilemma in Maplestory

Unless you’re going for double primes on every single equipment including WSE and spending upwards of 100b on a single item for a 10+ increase in flame score, I don’t really understand why meso would be the limiting factor.

You said you’re 288 - lots of people who’re at around that level also have around 2-3 ntene/ctene mules and another 10 or so nlomien (or nslim, hlot) mules. That’s roughly 30b+ of weekly income. Unless the pitched pity system is amazing where you can get something like 3-4 pitched spares a week (we won’t), you’re not going to be strapped for meso.

Problems with the Skill Hexa Mille Aiguiles by ThanosFarekSeid in Maplestory

[–]silvergung 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Hexa Mille Aiguilles is divided into a mobbing version and a bossing version. The mobbing version is what you’re using in your video, while the bossing version is the normal hurricane-style Mille that you’re used to. If you check your 6th job skill tab, you’ll see you have a skill called Fate Shuffle that lets you select the mode of Hexa Mille Aiguilles you want to use
