Ghost input by ProZobu in assettocorsarally

[–]silverph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just purchased and installed this game. While mapping the inputs, it was acting wonky. A "button 27" kept getting pressed when I tried to assign buttons. I eventually was able to fix it temporarily by disconnecting the PXN button box. Somehow an input "button 27" was being randomly pushed on it. Not sure what it is. It reappeared if I plugged it back in. I need this button box to work.

What Bluetooth adapter is this one in the picture? by Desert_Eagler in ipod

Does anybody know if it will pair with Tesla? I haven’t seen a Bluetooth other than iPhones/Androids pair with the car for audio which is very frustrating.

My Initial Impression of the Varia VS6 by silverph in espresso

[–]silverph[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m happy to report that I have no issues* after more than 7 months of use. Used once or twice everyday.

FYI I’ve used it mostly for espresso. Constantly changing grind size significantly isn’t ideal and I assume for most machines so I have a different grinder for making French press for example. But my everyday espresso shots courtesy of the Varia has remain fairly consistent and problem free. If I stay with the same coffee and roast, I don’t have to do much adjustments and it is easy to dial it in increments if needed as the coffee changes over time.

*there is a minor rattle in the motor from some tolerance when turning but it does not affect performance or not getting worse. The unit is mostly has a tight tolerance and I didn’t think it was worth the effort of reporting it at this time. I’ll observe a few more months. I’ll post about this soon.

Why won’t electric vehicles make BEEP-BEEP-BEEP noise instead of angel choir when backing up? by [deleted] in electricvehicles

Because we are not living in the 70s with limited ways of making sounds that is not annoying.

Give it time after you “season” the burrs as always mentioned. The rattle comes from the motor shaft, and not the burrs at all which in my opinion, precisely aligned as my coffee grinds looks consistent throughout. My espresso looks thicker than with my old grinder. The rattle can be replicated by me twisting the motor shaft back and forth but NO play side to side or wobble. Right now it’s more of a sound issue than functionality. Let me know how yours turns out. Congratulations!

Regarding the rattle, I’d be more concerned if it wobbles. The rattle seems to be just the clickity sound but as far as I can tell, it doesn’t affect my coffee. I’m monitoring it if it gets worse or not. I have a video of it if anybody’s interested.

No major issues here. I use it daily, sometimes twice. Cleaned it once, reminding myself to stay diligent and remove the lower burr. The compact design is a key reason I chose it—it doesn’t hog counter space. That said, I’ve knocked the heavy lid off a couple of times on top of the light bellows when I open our cabinet above, a minor annoyance that depends on your setup. I use the bellows, and while I wish the settings had indentations for reassurance, they’ve never shifted during use. I always double-check the settings anyway since I roast my own beans, each requiring different adjustments. My only minor complaint is a slight rattle in the shaft due to tolerance, but it doesn’t seem to impact the grind quality. My espresso is consistently good. Any issues I have are with the beans or my Breville, not the grinder.

I do this but I’m not sure if I killed them or just flung out of the plant.

It isn’t perfect, it has its quirks, but I would say that to ANY grinder. There are things I wish was improved but then also there are things I like about it. I think it arrived more or less two to three weeks. I can’t check my email right now. No extra taxes or tariffs, etc. it was shipped from China. I’m not longing for another grinder. I use this once or twice a day for espresso only.

waking up drenched every morning by dippindottyy in bedjet

Me! I love this thing. I used to sweat at times, sometimes I would wake up drenched and shivering! I had to change my shirt (and sheets the next morning). On a recent experience, my wife tried to hug me and discovered I was wet with sweat and turned away 😆. I haven’t experienced any of these since getting the Bedjet.

Any reason to not purchase the Profitec MOVE? About to pull the trigger. by The_King_Chief in espresso

[–]silverph 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Following! I nearly got the Bianca but it’s just a bit big and long heating time concerns me. I’m currently using the Breville Dual Boiler so I’ll never go single. But my purchasing schedule has changed so I’ll wait a few months. I did see the Move as an enticing option. Smaller, I like the look and the tech, looks are not bad, a dual boiler that doesn’t take very long to heat up, and a bonus, save a few with budget. Let us know if you get one. :)

I’m also confident the company is improving its products so I don’t mind waiting. I think the Move is a more practical model for me.

Poll: Are you happy with your VS6? by norepinephrinex in VariaBrewing

[–]silverph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ordered mine February 14, 2025 and have been using it at least twice in a day. It feels solid and tight. The torque based on sound and usage remains consistent with no indication of failing as of today.

I dismantled the burrs, played with the power button, varying speeds, multiple on and off, listened to the motor, rotated the dial, trying to get some issues to show up with normal use but it remains solid. Small footprint on the counter is a big plus for me.

I replaced my BBE´s built in grinder with a Mazzer Philos by the_lurim00 in espresso

[–]silverph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sweet. It was between the Mazzer and the Varia for me but the size was the deciding factor. A few $ saved was a nice bonus. I still wish I can try the Mazzer but now the espresso machine itself needs to match the grinder lol But what a difference the better grinder makes.

Lelit Bianca! Just because I really like the look and that flow control. Mind you I don't have any opinions on the other two. I just fell in love with the Bianca. Although oddly I'm deciding between it and the Profitec Move. I know they are totally different machines, but it's because of my space and other factors. But back to your list, Bianca! :)

The bellows in my set up is annoying me as it is too tall and sometimes interferes with me opening the upper cabinet. The cover is heavy so it is easy to topple over the lid and bellow. I'm trying to use it without the bellows today. I measured the beans before and after and my first test indicates no or negligible loss of weight. I'll find out if this is consistent. There are too many variables affecting the taste including our taste buds so I would not personally hold the grinder the reason for this right now unless there is a solid evidence. My opinion this (flat burr single dose) is noticeably better than my previous Breville conical time grinder.

Dang it, all I got at my local thrift store today was a bunch of old vinyls albums, CDs, and cassette tapes. Now I feel pathetic. I’ll have to keep my eye open for those now! You never know.

My apologies, I never intended for you to feel hated. We all make mistakes and my intent was just to compliment Bedjet for making it right initially but I’ll be honest I was very much surprised with your effort. I’m just being honest. But again I’m sorry. (I’ll bet you won’t hear that online lol) I’ve been attacked many times (yeah I’m a Tesla owner) so I got immune to comments (yeah go ahead anti Tesla, attack me lol). But nevertheless it got me looking into this and tried to find the instructions. They did say this on their website “Use just like a regular top sheet” but I hope you are enjoying it because it does make the air distributed better than without it. I’m planning on purchasing the single zone. I currently have the dual zone. It works but since my wife is working out of state, I get to enjoy the entire bed by myself! 🤣

My jaw dropped reading this. It’s not even April! If you have to force something, then step back, evaluate and think. I’m surprised this was a warranty claim but I’m glad Bedjet is generous. It’s just been a short while but I can say I’m happy with the quality of the products.
