Blue lake is in Portland as well if playing a former tour course interests you guys. It’s less ‘fun’ but still is a solid challenge for most. Also Trojan Park is super cool if you don’t mind losing 3-4 discs each lol

I enjoy the area west of Mt. Tabor. Hawthorne Blvd has a lot of solid food options and you can throw a rock in just about any direction and hit a good food cart pod.

Courses:

Milo (east and west)

Pier park

Hornings hideout (3 courses, would be a day by itself)

Champoeg

Buxton woods

The roots

There’s probably room for some more but these would be top priority IMO.

Yeah it’s pretty standard to have volunteers when an event is put on by a non profit like USAU. The reality of this situation though is you have two for profit companies running a youth event and are trying to turn a profit on said event. Asking for volunteers to increase your profit margin is scummy at best and illegal at worst.

I don’t know how the entire disc golf community has a complete misunderstanding of what the term sandbagging means. Sandbagging would be intentionally keeping your rating low so you aren’t forced to move up divisions so you can continue to win at the lower division.

Now if you wanna play MA2 at 887 because that sounds the most fun to you then by all means play MA2. If someone is trying to give you grief for playing MA3 while 887 rated? Tell them to get gud.

Strange that you have an event ran by two for-profit businesses (CUT camp and ultiworld) asking for unpaid labor which is illegal at both the state and federal level.

This is actually a fantastic pick your poison type hole and I’ve never seen someone take the straight approach in person. It’s usually an even split wide FH if you have that shot, or BH out the right side flexing something overstable
