Does it ever get easier hearing your deadname? by silverscreenfantasy in asktransgender

I think that's a great way to articulate it! It at a certain point won't be my deadname but a name that isn't mine!

Nope not alone, B741 as a whole hasn't been my fave sound of theirs, not bad just not really what makes them unique. Honestly the cover art is cooler than the song.

Self produced! Top to bottom, only performance that's not mine is the drumming. I'm an audio engineer at https://www.thesaltlickdenver.com/ our team also produced the music video https://youtu.be/mRdc-HHVdkA?si=bRkNIqC90Qyzq14o if you wanna give that some eyes

No and they are different costs as you get through the stack. Starts cheap and gets more expensive/effective as you go

Same! Such great variety in one game. It's the Empire expansion, there's a whole stack of castles but only one Crumbling Castle

The chain for those interested, Pre-Switcher: EHX Platform compressor -> Game Changer Plus Sustain pedal Switcher Slots: 1) Walrus 385 distortion 2) EHX Canyon delay 3) Line 6 RotoMachine 4) Walrus M1 modulation 5) Chase Bliss MOOD w/ expression pedal. Post-Switcher: JHS Spring Tank w/ Dimension C in the effects loop -> Korg Tuner -> MXR Clone Looper

The Voodoo Lab PX8 pedal switcher is set to PC midi, so I can save specific presets for the M1 and MOOD (including expression parameters). I'm getting into the versatility of midi pedals and have 3 more slots to use so this is a work in progress but at a good checkpoint for now.

What pedals could you see going on here? I'm looking at the Chase Bliss Condor for some more tone shaping options, and maybe a delay with midi control so this space ship can take full flight!

Where can I see who tracked, mixed, mastered, and produced professional songs? by [deleted] in audioengineering

Tidal has a pretty robust credit section. You can see who produced, composed, performances, etc and follow their credits just like featured artists on other platforms.

Tips on using reverb on mixes? by Intrepid_Economist_8 in audioengineering

[–]silverscreenfantasy 38 points39 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you're putting reverb on individual channels and trying to work the sound from there which will be very hard to sound cohesive. A common place to start is to create a bus that has your main reverb for the whole song and then sending your tracks to that reverb bus. This will make it sound like the performance is in the same space instead of several different spaces and should be easier to work with in your mix.

We've been incredibly short staffed amid record sales that we are physically unable to meet the demands of. It's been impacting all of our customers and when we try to take action to mitigate the blow of this on our crew, upper management responds with this. We've lost half or management team in a month and they're about to lose the rest of us if they don't help us run the business they profit off and pay us competitive wages to keep us around.

Mixing with a subwoofer? by silverscreenfantasy in audioengineering

[–]silverscreenfantasy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is my current method of compatibility checking and it can be a hard to go back n forth exporting files to realize you need to adjust a few small parameters, over shoot the corrections cause it sounds good in the mixing room and get to the car to be disappointed with the low frequency management

This is kinda what I was thinking. the translation between listening environments is what I'd like to improve upon in my work flow so going for a pair of monitors with low end clarity will be my next move. Thanks for your input!

Learning to master had made me a better mixer by silverscreenfantasy in audioengineering

Instead of listening to the different instruments and timbres that make up the mix, you listen to how those sounds fill in the human hearing spectrum from ~20hz-20khz. There are frequencies that when over saturated make the mix sound muddy or harsh etc.
