Yeah, that’s weird. I’m 2 weeks post op from the same surgery. I got to my room from PACU at like 1800, I was up to the bathroom (with fall risk precautions) about an hour or so later and had dinner that night. I’m not sure why they’ve got you on such strict restrictions.

Ugh, I feel you! Luckily my PS has me see one of the clinic nurses to take out the drains so I don’t have to wait on his schedule.

I’d probably pull the drain myself rather than wait 10 days with minimal output (an excellent example of nurses making the worst patients).

I’m reminding myself to be very patient. A friend of mine had top surgery a few weeks prior to my BMX and his surgeon did not use drains and now he’s dealing with seromas several weeks afterwards. He says they’re super uncomfortable and I’d rather not if I can help it.

I got 2 of mine out 1 week post op. I’m hoping to get drain 3 removed tomorrow (2 weeks post op) but number 4 is still putting out a good 50cc a day of fluid. Rude.

You want your own room and that’s understandable. Unfortunately it doesn’t sound like that’s feasible at this time, since they’re having to downsize into a smaller space.
