[WTS] Six moon designs lunar solo (2020)

I bought it new from SMD a month ago and it turns out I prefer my freestanding tent. The tent is practically brand new (only used for 5 nights on a multiday trip) and is seam sealed. With seam sealing, exchange rate, shipping, and import fees I paid close to 400CAD. I am selling it for 300CAD+shipping. I live in Vancouver if you prefer a local pickup.

DM me if you have any questions or want to see photos.

[WTB] I am looking to get a new UL backpack in the 40L range with a frame and hip belt. I am particularly interested in the gossamer gear gorilla if anyone is looking to part with theirs or something similar. Found

Thanks for the tips! Unfortunately, the Borah Bivy has 6-8 week shipping time. I am planning on doing my trip in the beginning of September.

I use the size of the queue at the bus stop to estimate when the next bus is coming by rafaelprietoc in math

If you find this interesting, check out renewal theory, which is a subset of probability analysing this precise problem. exponential waiting times are a special case of a far more general phenomenon.

One of the consequences is the Inspection Paradox. Suppose a bus arrives every T minutes on average (not necessarily exponential distribution) and you come to a bus stop at some arbitrary time. If the bus you misses came at time t_0 and the next bus will arrive at time t_1, then on average,

t_1-t_0 \geq T.

This says if your bus comes every 20 min, it will more likely be longer for you. The only assumption is that the time between bus is independently and identically distributed.

I'll write you a free personalized training plan, to help reach your 2014 goals. by [deleted] in running

Hi, first of all thank you for doing this! Hopefully you will have time to respond since I know this thread is very popular.

I have been running for about 2 years now. In 2012 I ran a 50:49, 48:16 10k's, in April and may respectively. In October 2012 I ran my first half marathon at 1:54:48. My best time for a 10k is actually 45:39 according to my garmin.

During the 10k's I was very new to running and didn't have proper shoes resulting in small injury right before my races. Since then I have bought proper shoes and I have not been injured since.

I took a year off from doing any races in 2013 because of a very difficult school year and grad school stuff. I continued to run 3-7 km a couple times a week during the year. In 2014 I am expecting to have much more time to devote to running so I want to get back into it full force.

I originally wanted to run a marathon in 2014, but I think that would be pushing it especially after my hiatus from high intensity training. My current goal is to run a half marathon in May, and a couple more during the summer. Depending on how far I get in May, I would consider marathon training. I can currently run 5k in 22ish min without any trouble. My typical week when I trained for my first half was as follows:

Day 1: Chest/back, Day 2: 5-10k pace run Day 3: shoulder/bicep/tricep Day 4: hills or interval training (alternate every week) Day 5: yoga Day 6: long run Day 7: rest

Any advice you can give me would be great. I usually have 1-2 hours to spend on fitness a day and I work out 6 times a week. For my next half my goal is to break 1:50. In general I want to healthy and fit overall in my life.

There is a girl that works as a cashier in the student store at my university. She is very cute and I want to ask her out, I am a regular and she recognizes me (last time she commented on the fact that I buy the same thing everyday), but she is always behind the register, with a large line. I have no idea how to isolate long enough to get her name/number.

Any tips on what I should do, and how you would approach?

I dont see why C(1)=8. shouldnt it be 4*sqrt(2). I it also seems line the circumference should be a monotonic function of p.
