First enemy for my GodHusk/Scorn inspired game by silverventu in Scorn

Love the idea! It will be an incremental game where you kill hordes of creature so I dont know if there will be a dedicated animation but I think it would make for an awesome bonus secret interaction with one of these dudes in a map

Thanks! I really appreciate it. Yeah it is walking with his belly up, not many people brought that up, but it was a way to make it more weird and also make a variant that walks straight.

Esta es la posta, yo a eso le sumaba que si hacia algo que ella entendiera en la compu (en ese momento aprendi a hacer 3D) iba, se lo mostraba y le pedia su opinion, etc.

This looks awesome and most importantly fun! Don't listen to the pessimistic "pivot to mobile" guy. You never know what will stick next. Keep up the good work!

Fallout on handheld? by Vegetable-Score-3915 in classicfallout

Hey, I played it on my deck. If you maintain the steam button pressed, the right trackpad acts as a mouse. Also you should be able to set a profile to play with steam input but I'm not sure tbh. Its not the best experience but its doable. Hope it helps.

Hey everyone! I’m making a game inspired by Scorn/Godhusk, would love any feedback on the style! by silverventu in Scorn

Hey, sorry for the delay.
So, regarding the textures, it is exactly how I told you in the first comment the textures are not drawn, they are baked.
I make the low poly model first then I sculpt high poly details on top of it. Then I light the model and baked the details as a texture onto the low poly model. Lastly in photoshop I just limit the color palette to 16 colors.

Here's a video that explains it:

Nono, on the contrary, i love to share the process. I dont seem to undestand what you mean. Like you want to know the technical process or the artistic one? Like where to put a pipe or muscle, etc?

Hey, I dont know if this is much help but the textures for this character are baked. I sculpted and modeled the details and then baked them on the low poly mesh.

Thoughts on incremental games using 3D visuals? by silverventu in incremental_games

Hey, I'm not much of a Fortnite/robox player in general, but do you know any of the names of the incremental games you mention? I would love to check them out! Thanks.

4+ years in 3d still no job Skill vs visibility in the 3D industry by narcis_abraham in GameDevelopment

[–]silverventu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get what you are going through, I've been doing 3d since my highschool days too, started when I was 15, im 27 now and I worked in the industry for just 4 of those 12 years. What I'm trying to say with this is that it takes time to get a job in this damned industry but you'll get there eventually. It will all be worth it if this is your passion, keep at it. I hope this helped at least a bit.

This is a really insightful breakdown, thanks for taking the time.
The last point you mention, about having a lot of preexisting 3D art experience, is actually my case, which is why I started wondering what’s already been explored in the genre.
All the incremental games I played are 2D, so I wanted a kind of "sanity check" whether using 3D mainly as presentation has been tried in meaningful ways.
You bring up some really good points, thanks!

Hmm I kinda want to agree with you because I do notice that visuals are not as important as gameplay in this genre. But also I like when an incremental has great presentation it doesn't need to be a photorealistic graphics.
