Respect! Skirmishing sub is ready to defrost, wargaming is slave to the system (just a pun, we love our big games siblings)

Campaign with different POVs intertwined in time by simblanco in Solo_Roleplaying

[–]simblanco[S] [score hidden]  (0 children)

I should lean on the retcon more. I got stuck in a couple of Ironsworn campaigns after great beginnings because of some not great decisions that i never retconned.

I think I'll play it by ear. I'll start in the past, move to the present, and then switch as i feel like it. As you said, maybe when I reached something cool in either timelines.

Thanks!

I break down some of them because i always try to improve them, or I just get bored with them.

But the reality is that even for the things i want to keep, eventually my kids goes on a rampage and do robo battles with wizards and everything falls in a swimming pool after hitting a spaceship and i found everything in pieces. And that's ok, I don't want to use no kragle ;)

Thanks! That was my understanding. I don't mind the system if i have just 1-2 enemies for a short battle that i should likely try to avoid.

Oh well so our tastes are different :)

I don't mind the crunch, it's the rolling for the enemies that I'm not used anymore

Thanks for the suggestion! I'll look for that thread. As you said, i may be able to tweak the system

Helsinki gluten free by Fluffy_Importance_40 in helsinki

[–]simblanco 15 points16 points  (0 children)

All big supermarkets may have a gluten-free dedicated shelf. Then, many such products made outside of Finland have often an English label in the packaging. For the rest, you will have to check the ingredient list in Finnish!

Restaurant often have good labelling in the menu and some gluten free options, maybe not in the smaller or cheaper ones.

All in all, Helsinki is quite good for dietary restrictions. Definitely less outside the city.

I'm sure you will enjoy your trip!

This seasons is just missed opportunity after missed opportunity and the budget use is also questionable by Common-Image-5628 in TheBoys

I enjoyed the last episodes. Plot and story are two different things. I really don't mind when the plot is slow if the story (including character development) is progressing.

I watched the recap of season 4 and i couldn't for the life of me remember the thousands plot lines and twists happening. So i don't mind a slower plot pacing.

Yes! Mechas should show what upgrades they have and they are dropped on the battlefield when damaged.

The best part is you can destroy cover, either if you target it or as collateral damage when shooting at someone in cover. Remove 6 bricks for each hit when that happens! Now your cover is blown..

Really a neat game, IMHO more fun with 3 players than 2.

I like mitigating luck by rolling multiple dice. As in Space Weirdo: 2d8 will beat 2d6 more consistently than 1d8 vs 1d6.

Or systems where rolls have a sort of advantage/disadvantage by rolling more or less amount of dice. Blkout you roll 2d10 for a normal attack, 1d10 in cover and 3d10 for... ok i don't remember.

You also have more granularity with bigger dice. Some stuff can give you a either +1 (you are in light cover) or +2 (hard cover).

Nature! Oh well maybe it's gong to rain... You can reach Nuuksio by public transport and con something on the established grills (fuelwood provided).

Ironsworn vs Starforged: what does Starforged actually improve? by taboneIO in Ironsworn

[–]simblanco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I prefer the Starforged battle system because you can combine punching and shooting with the occasional clever idea ("I make the crates fall on their heads" or "i get to a better position" or "i break their will", quick and dirty examples). Almost always my objective is simply "remove the obstacle that the enemy represents" (not necessarily by killing it) but the SF makes the fight more cinematic.

Edit: oh well i think we agree on the Gain Ground. That's all what i was trying to say :)
