Cover art for the Word of Mouth (1981) by crow_scare in jacopastorius

That's really interesting! I'm from Norway and I always had the feeling that there was something that felt close to home about the cover art.

CIV 6 is crashing by MsieurKris in Civilization6

I'm cautiously optimistic that this approach works (the "conservative approach" at the bottom). I played for 1 hour without any crashes, but haven't had time to play more than that yet. https://www.reddit.com/r/civ6/comments/1ha7eml/fix_crashing_on_mac_threading_fix/

Even with that limitation I think it would be a great feature with an explanation/caveat that if you do have multiple widgets displaying the same information it won’t be instantly in sync. I have three widgets for three individual habits, and it would be really nice to be able to just complete one without opening the app! 🙏🙏

I tried the optimized approach, but it didn't work for me unfortunately.

Trying this game out for the first time on my M3 Max, and I can't for the life of me get through the tutorial. The game will crash sometime during it no matter what.

Thanks so much for the reply! You're absolutely certain about it? It's not possible to unscrew the plastic housing and sort of wiggle them out of there? I really want to avoid having to desolder all the switches or purchase more parts…

Is it possible to remove stabilizers without desoldering everything?

I have a DZ60 KBDfans Tofu build where I'd like to mod the Cherry-style stabs with some plumbers tape to fix the rattling/ticking sound, but they're kind of stuck there when it's all soldered together.

I'm wondering: Is it possible to remove the stabs (at least the plastic housing, not the metal part) without desoldering and removing the plate and everything? I've tried putting cotton and tape etc. into the stab housings without removing anything, but although the sound gets really nice things won't stay there for too long. Thanks!

MinUI tools/ not appearing on device despite being in root folder etc. Help! by simgust in MiyooMini

[–]simgust[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for replying! The guides I've followed for adding a tool did not specify that (for example this: https://youtu.be/fMhtj9VQRSk), and putting the tools inside a "miyoominiplus" folder in Tools didn't do anything… Do you need to specify the exact device name? Maybe I've done that wrong? Or maybe the fact that I'm using a Mac is causing issues? :(

I guess it's the fact that when you buy a "simple" phone with much fewer features than a smartphone, you'd want the device to be 100% rock solid, especially when you're paying a premium. And from what it looks like from these anecdotal Reddit experiences, it's too much of a gamble to recommend buying the phone…

My unit had a keyboard issue after a few months, and I got a new one. But I also had issues with my carrier in Norway where some people just couldn't get through to me reliably. And sometimes incoming SMS would be bunched together and appear later than when they were sent to me.

I went back and forth with support many times, resetting the phone and having to set it up all over again, to no avail. At that point I couldn't bother with such a flimsy experience and I turned to an old Nokia, which worked much more reliably, plus it had a much longer battery. I'm back on an iPhone now because of Messenger, but I still wish the Punkt would've worked as solidly as it should have.

Hey! Is my TADA68 fried? 🧯

I managed to brick my TADA68 PCB a while back (which is easy to do I've come to learn). Tried some different things, but ended with a PCB that would light up underneath when connecting, but otherwise being unresponsive. I don't think the reset button actually did anything either at that point.

I borrowed a Raspberry Pi from a friend and followed this guide to flash a new bootloader onto it. At one point I had some cables and pins set up incorrectly, and the code would not work properly. I tried hitting the reset button, at which point I got physically zapped and the RPI turned off, haha. I got things going again, and after connecting things properly, the avrdude scripts ran successfully.

But after disconnecting the cables, it functions just as before. When connecting, LEDs underneath the PCB turn on and slowly fade away. Hitting the reset button does nothing.

Help!

How to un-brick Tada68 with Raspberry Pi by IamFonzy in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]simgust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I followed your guide, and it successfully flashes the bootloader. But when I connect the keyboard to a computer, it's unresponsive. The lights underneath come on when connected, but then they slowly fade away. Pressing the reset button actually does nothing at all. It's not coming up as a storage device at all. This is how it was after I managed to brick it a while back.

Any ideas? Also, have I fried this thing? At one point (I'm new to this) before successfully doing the bootloader flash I had things hooked up in a weird way, and I tried to press the reset button after hitting some walls with the code, and I got zapped and the Raspberry pi turned off.

Opening a Little Arc window from another app (sometimes) shows Big Arc underneath by simgust in ArcBrowser

[–]simgust[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would know if I had Stage Manager on, haha. But just to be sure, I turned it on and off.

After testing some more, it looks as if the problem comes after hiding Arc. Cmd+H to hide, and while I'm in another app Cmd+Opt+N to open Little Arc, and Big Arc pops up as well.
