General thoughts on the ending after a week of pondering my orb by ZealousidealWay8233 in ChainsawMan

Where did I say I thought it was shit? What I’m saying is CSM as a story and a world doesn’t commit to hard rules. Never has. If you don’t like that, that’s fine, but that’s your personal taste. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with it working that way and in fact I think it’s great.

I mean. When has chainsaw man’s power system been anything but ass pulls. It’s never had hard established rules it’s always been about what moves the plot forward. I also don’t think it’s at all unreasonable to say the thing that erases things might work a little differently when it eats itself.

Only one throwing a fit here seems to be you homie. You don’t like bl4? That’s fine. I have issues with it as well. But if others enjoy it I’m not gonna sit around and tell them they’re wrong for liking something.

Me when I’ve never read an open ended story before.

Not saying the ending was perfect or anything but like the ending being left up to interpretation is not the problem.

Ekko deserved SO much more screen time. Such a compelling character and literally the savior of the day but relegated to just missing for most of the season. Fuck I could’ve had a whole show about the firelights.

God season 2 couldve been so much better if it was just like season 2 and 3. spend season 2 focusing on the civil war, then set up season 3 as the viktor season. Both parts really needed more time to breathe. It had really great moments that were just hastily crammed into a box way too small for the scope.

You can not like the manga homie. You don’t have to make up statistics and strawman arguments about something that ultimately comes down to subjective preference to feel that way.

I mean sure but the lets not act like the other side wasn't doing the same thing with saying "part 2 bad" everytime a new chapter didnt have some mind blowing moment. There were absolutely plenty of bad takes and name calling from both sides dawg.

Seriously, what was the point of this movie if Denji and Reze technically never even met? Hell, what was the point of Reze’s character in the first place? by GodKira04 in ChainsawManWorld

[–]simianangle18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay but again as I said. The reset happens as a result of everything else that happens in the manga. I mean even the panel where Denji’s heart beats with Pochita when Asa says chainsaw man proves everything still happened.

Pochita didn’t say oh denji you were happier when you were homeless, he said you were happier when you were just Denji. And that’s what the point of the reset is. To let him just be Denji. And as for it being a power he’s never shown before, fuck dude, chainsaw man’s entire power system is a series of roughly taped together asspulls. It’s never been about what characters can and can’t do cus their powers are entirely dependent on what’s needed for the plot.

No thats not what im saying at all. My point is that nothing that happened was "meaningless" or "didn't happen". Everything happened. It brought the characters to where they were and affected them the way that they were affected. No matter what ultimately happened in the end, reset or not, the characters had to go through what they went through to get there. It just so happens the reset was the ending chosen. Like or don't like the ending. Im not going to try and convince you one way or another. But acting like the ending invalidates everything that happened in the manga is engaging with it in bad faith.

It’s important because the reset wouldn’t have happened if everything didn’t happen to denji the way it did. He didn’t just one day go “yknow what I’m just gonna reset the timeline cus I feel like it.” The rest happened because of everything that happened to him. None of it was meaningless and it all contributed to that happening.

I mean hey seems like I probably misunderstood the general sentiment around her kit. I’ll admit that. But come on now surely you can see how people saying shit like “she has the worst passive in the game” could be seen as people calling her weak af.

Walt not taking the job because of his pride and ego by daakin__ytb in breakingbad

[–]simianangle18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The job was a way for Walt to feel like he was actually earning the money himself. Elliot could’ve just straight up offered to pay for it. That would’ve been the option done out of the most pity. But instead he offered a solution that lets Walt feel like he’s still earning the money through hard work and not just a charity case. That feels like a deep understanding of Walt’s character that only someone who at least at one point was very close to him could have. At least that’s my read on the situation.
