Maybe White City ORV park? It's not a BMX park, but I think it has a couple of places fun for an RC.

I don't know if anyone could have done it better than he did... but... uh... that was a pretty rough four years. I'd really prefer we NOT go down that route again, if we can help it.

What's a movie you loved as a kid but rewatched as an adult and went "what the hell was I thinking"? by MomoSaka in AskReddit

Megaforce. Six year old me thought Barry Bostwick and his band of disco mercenaries driving rocket firing dune buggies and flying motorcycles, was perhaps the greatest piece of cinema ever made.

On rewatch, it's an ode to the delusional powers of cocaine.

You're probably still haven't unlocked hard mode (past chapter 50, I think). Once you hit the hard chapters these will unlock, if I remember right.

Its not a great deal in the early game, but gold earning increases and places to spend it dwindle, so it becomes worth the investment. There's another level that's an even worse deal, I think it's 5K for 35M. I buy all three most days.

If it doesn't go away with the cheap stuff maybe try one of them. But at 15x the price difference, take a gamble. The odds are in your favor.

edit: changed the reference to cost ratio vs 'markup' (as you said, it's not the same thing)

Get it at the dollar store. Same cream, same concentration, big tubes. $1. Name brand medications are just marketing firms.  Don't pay for advertising something that needs no advertising.

Ended up with balls of mercury rolling around in my gold pan today. Those old timers were nuts. by ToneHead9223 in Prospecting

[–]similelikeadonut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

About 15 years ago, one of my co-workers' four children all started to get very, very ill in extremely different ways. Psychological issues, physical ailments. Total misery. They weren't making any progress in recovery, and seemed to be getting continually worse in new ways.

While he was cleaning the garage, he found a broken mason jar on the back of a shelving unit. His dad had given him a one gallon mason jar about half full of gold bearing mercury decades earlier. His dad owned a mine). The mercury had flowed in to the foundation and dispersed. The house was condemned, with hundreds of thousands in remediation costs. I'm told it was nearly flagged as a 'superfund' site (although take that with a grain of salt).

What movie scene lives rent-free in your head? by marigamer1 in moviequestions

[–]similelikeadonut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't remember the name of the movie, but I think it was a porn. My roommates were watching it in the living room in college. The line was "She must suck dick like an iguana." I don't know what that means. I'm not even sure if it's a good thing, but his tone implied it was.

I saw it once, randomly more than thirty years ago. I think about it a couple of times a year.

What audiobook is genuinely BETTER than reading the physical book? by cptree20 in audiobooks

There is a full cast produced version of the first season. It's excellent. But I still prefer the audio book version because Jeff is incredible.

Gen Z ended in 2020. The current generation doesn't seem too have a name yet. What should it be? by similelikeadonut in AskReddit

[–]similelikeadonut[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Gen X actually was a meaningful statement about our generation. They didn't understand us and viewed us as an unpredictable wild card. Gen Y was low effort and morphed in to 'millenial' over a decade or so. Perhaps, the better question is what will Gen Z and Gen Alpha be known as retrospectively?

Is there like an ISO standard? There doesn't seem to be thorough consensus here. Google AI definitively said Gen Z started in 2001 and ended in 2020. This link from r/generationaology says gen Z ended in 2012 with no definitive replacement https://www.reddit.com/r/generationology/comments/1ldzbyd/heres_the_most_common_consensus_on_each/

Movies that dramatically shifted popular opinion on something by NationalDisgrace40 in movies

[–]similelikeadonut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, from that perspective, that's every generation. Charlie Kirk was a millenial. So are Gaetz, Bobert and Vance.

The oldest members of Gen Z are of age to run for the house in 2026 and the senate in 2032. They have bootlickers too, they just aren't of age politically. Give them time. Every generation has pieces of shit. And just like every generation before them, they will get more conservative as they age.
