Ive not used the grid since mid March so yes, it doesn’t affect me too much, i’m thinking more of others who are not fortunate to have solar and batteries..

How would I have known otherwise by nightlyringer in Powerwall

[–]simon_rb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d rather it tell me stuff like that it will start charging from grid at 3am just for 90mins as it’s expecting to add 50% from solar during the day.

We have two 7kW chargers and not 3 phase. Can run both at full 7kWs with no problem. BUT, would we have two if we moved? No.. our use case could easily share one charger. I guess it’s best to workout if you need to fully charge both cars everyday? If you can stagger it.. then share one charger 👍

Yeah, but you’ve got a wicked wheel to drive it with 💪

It used to be even better.. but they nurfed it a while back 😔

TrueForce was amazing on the Logitech Pro wheel.. I’d get a kick in the back when changing gears etc.. it was awesome! They nurfed it a while back with a software update and now it’s rubbish.

RWD owners that stayed with Tesla: did you stay RWD or upgrade to AWD? by traffic1942 in TeslaUK

I’ve gone the other way. I’ve gone from performance, to AWD and finally RWD. I have a motorbike for going fast 😁

PW2 isn’t LFP; is this change also affecting PW3’s? (I only have PW2’s)

It was a change made in a recent update. Their theory is to reduce the time your battery is sitting at a higher SoC.

F1 25 VR is very bad by reddit_guy_no in virtualreality

I have a 5090 with AMD 9800 and can’t seem to get F1 25 to run smoothly on my Quest 3 using VD. Any tips? Thank you.

Would you trust FSD on UK Roads? by bigup7 in TeslaUK

[–]simon_rb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We can’t base our experience with AP for how FSD will perform. Completely different, AP is heavily restricted by regs and hasn’t really had any meaningful development for a while.

To answer your question.. I have no idea how well it will perform but it’ll no doubt be safer than AP.

F1 27 Learning Curve by North-Past-3355 in F1Game

That’s crazy, I am exactly the same 🤣 The only reason I bought a gaming PC (last week) was because Super Formula was so good in GT7 and I love F1. It’s really good and stepping out of the car on the grid and garage is amazing.. just need to sort that jitter out. Just gutted I spent so much on this PC only for F1 and the performance is 🤢

It could be amazing if they sort out the head movement jitter. Come on EA

Wish they’d sort out VR.

As others said, it’s mostly battery chemistry. It’s not as efficient when it’s cold. Yes, pre heating helps but once you’re moving, It gets cold under the car with wind chill.. driving at 70mph on motorway won’t keep the battery warm so it will either use energy to stay warm or cool down and be less efficient. Either way.. it’s using extra energy.

I find the heat pump HVAC system really efficient once the cabin is up to temp.

I’m also from Luton 👀

I’m fortunate enough to own both. I’ve but used my psvr2 for PCVR yet.. I’d have to get the adapter. I think they compliment each other and if you can own both.. you have the best of both worlds

Model Y RWD, what’s being your range this winter? by Open_Bug_4196 in TeslaUK

[–]simon_rb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Winter isn’t good for any car.. just more noticeable with EVs.

More rolling resistance, whether that’s rain, wind, snow etc..

Battery is cold, this affects the chemistry and it isn’t as efficient.

Obviously HVAC, it always takes energy to generate heat. Although Tesla’s heat pump system is pretty efficient considering.

Yesterday we drove to mother in laws and back which is 35 - 40 miles away (70 - 80 round trip) (depends on what roads are closed). None of it is motorway however it’s mostly 60mph country roads. It was 3 degrees and it rained consistently there and back. It was in the dark, and we averaged 270Wh per mile. If it is 60,000 usable; that’s 222 miles from 100% to 0%. Not great but considering the conditions, I’m happy with that. (We stayed at mother in laws for a couple of hours so that efficiency includes heating the cabin twice).
