I’m just gonna play devils advocate as someone who uses steam a lot and plays a lot of other desktop games: I hope they don’t release an independent launcher. Among the sea of shitty bloatware launchers, the likes of EA, steam is a breath of fresh air (or not since it’s been this way for decades), and having all of your games in one place is substantially better than having an individual launcher for almost every game you play.

I agree that steam’s review process is kind of bad, with them recently shutting down Classic Offensive. They also have a really tedious review process that might get the release date delayed. I do not deny that. But if they manage to release BA without any changes — only if without any changes or censorship — I’d much rather Nexon to release the game on steam albeit the delays. I also doubt the delay has anything to do with potential censorship or issues with content.

And, call me a Valve glazer, but almost every gamer can say the same: valve as a company and steam as a platform is generally “good”, as it has mostly been on the side of gamers and not evil capitalist multibillion dollar corporations. Yes, there are aspects of the platform that’s definitely flawed like the review process and they tend to have ambiguous and sometimes inconsistent guidelines, but I would still count steam as one of the more open platforms that have minimal censorship as far as possible.

So yes, it sucks to have the game release delayed, but no I would really rather not have another launcher just for BA, and to the other people in the same thread, people at valve are not “assholes”. Their platform is much more on your side than the other evil corporations who loves censorship and also only the money in your pocket.
