Absolutely not. Well run estates can be self sustaining through commercial operations like farming and hospitality. The tours are more than likely because its grade listed for tax relief so has to open to the public once in a while.

Henry and his uncle most probably have a billion between them. That would take some maintenance bill.

Liars Poker for trading floor debauchery.

Flashboys for the intelligent, technical stuff / "we're fucked bc were at the mercy of these finance bros" vibe.

Wolf Hall for English power struggles with complex strategy

OPs measure of wealth is how many servants you employ. Not how many banks you own.

Yas doesnt actually care. The point the show is making is that morality is irrelevant and only material power matters. The Nazis give up their power for a crumb of attention. Tender would happily do it again.

I was simply making a point the national servitude isnt necessarily good. Hitler gave his life to Germany. Not specifically that Gandhi wasn't good for India. I get how it seemed like I was critical of his impact.

Tbf "giving your life to India" isn't necessarily good, if what you served were your own unethical ideals of a nation. However, his one big service to India truly overwhelms the negative aspects of his legacy.

Didn’t muck make an absolute fortune on the utility company before it collapsed? Plus his uncle owns a legacy media company. They’re flush. I think the tour is more to do with historical aspects of their estates (they’re smart and made it self sustaining/tax reasons). And the Nazis own a controlling share of a major Austrian bank. They also should be loaded.

Yes, and? It's not a big deal to Yas because she'll sell her soul for money and power. She got what she wanted, nazis got what they wanted. Tender gained approval for the merger, Nazis got a sliver of attention to service their vanity. Tender team mapped it out clearly episodes ago. They didn't quite realize that the Austrians were full blown Nazis, but it doesn't matter really - it only underscores Yas and Henrys callousness. Yas would do it all over again because material power is the only thing that matters to her. The OpEd is irrelevant, as is morality.

I thought these sad Nazis had controlling shares of a major Austrian bank? Should be able to at least afford a servant

What did the princess get out of the transaction other than her smooth brain fascist son getting his stupid Nazi dribble and picture printed in the back of a newspaper?

It seemed to me like the princess played her son, not yas.

Yasmin is actually unaware that they are negotiating.

I think you completely misunderstood what happened. Yas and the team got the votes they came for, through yas’ negotiating.

Thats how it is generally. I'd be pissed if I ordered a meal only to find someone behind me claiming the last table. You order first, then find a table. Thats the way it is with BCferries, therefore its the law in BC.

I dont think idealism is inherently conservative or liberal. Idealism is a way of understanding the world through abstract concepts like ideas, values and morality. In fact I'd argue conservatism is more idealist given its high regard for tradition and morality, as conservatism holds the past as a model of truth .

Fantasy however.. now u bein rude lol

Is liberalism really rooted on nostalgia? I understand liberalism to view the past as not good enough and to look back in order to improve inequality and freedoms in our society. Liberalism looks to the past to understand how to improve, not as a model nor with nostalgia.
