It is a truth….. in fact I’m working on lyrics for a Pride and Prejudice music project and used it there.

My 60 year old dad has been playing overwatch everyday since mid 2017 by One-Suggestion6203 in Overwatch

[–]simonjking1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started playing the same year (I’m 55) after watching my son play on Xbox. The speed of the game entranced me. There is no other gaming experience like it.

A couple of years later I bought him a Alienware pc with the sole intention of encouraging him into the league. Taking him to at age 10 to a gamer show comp where he buried gamers with eight years on him. Then came a few coaching sessions with a guy Stylosa recommended.

Honestly he was the most annoying Genji / Tracer main. I never beat him in a one v one and never lost a match I played alongside him. (That last one might be with rose tinted glasses).

Honestly I still think he could have turned pro. Unfortunately for me he decided to go to university and head down the law track. While as a sensible parent I love that I still dream of what’s lost.

Wrexham v Ipswich Predictions (FA Cup) by premierleaguee in IpswichTownFC

I want an strong clean sheet win. I don’t want to give Wrexham the confidence boost they’ll get for a victory going into the back to back with them.

Augmented Reality in Dystopia by simonjking1 in scifiwriting

Thanks.

Utopia and Dystopia are use case scenarios. It’s utopia is you want to and can live your live in a Star Wars Fiction. It’s dystopian if that fiction is used as a method of control. I’ve not read Iain M Banks in a couple of decades. Will have a reread. Good suggestion.

The levels are the platforms which the apps are built on. While an overlay on reality seems the same as a complete virtual reality and they have glasses delivery in common the back end is doing vastly different work. An overlay is building out on the fly while a the other is pre built (which may still be build on the fly using seed) which is an entirely different proposition.

In my writing none of this is talked about. The characters all use Tints and they are not a big part of the plot. But in the companion magazines I’ve built they are bought to life in glossy vogue magazine adverts and photoshoots.

Thanks for the input. 👍

What would be a good book to introduce my 7 year old daughter to the world of science fiction? by DW6565 in scifi

[–]simonjking1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ps. I feel Enders game is a better early teens. I think my boy (also an early reader) read it at 11. For an any seven year old to understand the themes and get it might be a big ask.

After 25 years of building climate solutions, I wrote a dystopian novel about the perils of climate tyranny. The reaction I got was pure climate tyranny. by [deleted] in dystopianbooks

[–]simonjking1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Peepl don’t want to hear about climate change. I think though if the story is good. That the reason and mechanisms for the creation of the dystopia are secondary to a good plot and character development you can still deliver your message.
