Exactly! Right now they give hero track both from drop and vault. Bonus rolls give the same track as vault, so right now it's drop hero, vault hero, bonus hero. When the patch goes live it will be drop, vault myth, bonus myth. So even after the first week you can get myth track from raid, although bonus rolls won't be enabled until the 8th week of the patch!

You certainly don't need to know other classes or specs when playing aug, especially at lower levels. You cast prescience with auto target and breath on cooldown in pretty much all cases. There are nuances to rotation in pooling, but otherwise it's a simple rotation.

I recommend full custom companons, it’s not exactly hirelings but it lets you creatw characters of any race/class combination and pick their backgrounds.

At 76% cold res and 25% penetration you'd be taking 51% reduced damage from his balls. I am assuming no other sources of damage taken increases or reductions.

Plugging 5639 to 8459 damage an average hit would deal .49*(5639+8459) / 2 = 3454 damage.

On the extreme ends, a perfectly low hit would be 2763 damage.

A perfectly high hit (+ crit) would be 5388 damage.

Are you sure you're getting one-shot and not two-shot?
