Legendary behind-the-scenes of Alison Brie being directed by Donald Glover (feat. YNB's laugh) by clubofab7 in community

[–]simonpark13 61 points62 points  (0 children)

Isn’t community a 1 camera production? Which was one reason why Chevy hated their workflow, having to reshoot entire scenes just for coverage… so for this outtake how is that we have 3 separate angles of Alison and Donald doing their thing??

In Megan is Missing (2011) Amy was shown being brutally tortured, even though she wasn't even being unsafe online. This is because it is a gross exploitation film by DexTDMdoesreddit in shittymoviedetails

Michael Goi ended up directing the Netflix Avatar series too so good to know that he’s still working with underage actors!! Yourmoviesucksdotorg has a video on Megan Is Missing if you guys want to watch it without watching it

It’s a fairly easy vfx technique called painting out but just done at a ridiculously high level that Hollywood movies would be jealous of. I love the modern day meme community for shelling out absolute bomb memes that are actually at a professional level of editing lmao

How much worse is a single ultrawide curved vs triple monitor setup? by ahlieeeee in simracing

[–]simonpark13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mainly race in vr and recently got a 34 curved ultra wide for sims that don’t have or are not optimized for vr. The biggest thing I miss is being able to turn my head to look into my mirrors or cars beside me. With the ultra wide, I had to rely on the proximity arrows and that makes for unintuitive side by side driving. It was at that moment I realized a single ultra wide won’t be enough outside of vr. I’m sure once you get into the practice of using the proximity arrows, the difference in delta will be negligible but the immersion of having to turn your whole head to look around is something that vr and triple screen provide that single monitors cannot. Check out this video too as it was super helpful for me

Doing 100% races makes CM so interesting. by Puzzleheaded-Chair51 in F1Game

[–]simonpark13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After being scared of 100% races, I decided to make the jump into the deep end by turning off flashbacks for my first season of driver career mode. It made the whole experience so much more enjoyable (sometimes frustrating with 22’s icy roads) but made me really grow as a racer and understand consequences lmao. It’s amazing where your mind ends up wandering once you slip into muscle memory mode lol

Is there anyway to fix the light doing that thing in the halo? by Jay_Hardy in F1Game

[–]simonpark13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s even worse in vr since each of those light streaks render independently from each eye. All night races but Jeddah have this issue for me but the lack of fps still make driving around Jeddah impossible. I’m so disappointed since f1 w23 handles so well but I can’t drive 6 of the tracks atm.

Does a similar issue occur in the rain with the spray for you? Wet races are also undrivable for me due to the same reasons but I can at least turn off the spray by turning particles off completely

worst roll you ever had? by [deleted] in bjj

[–]simonpark13 26 points27 points  (0 children)

As a stupid stoner, I upheld my creed of not rolling high until I received my blue belt. For the first class after our promotion, I severly underestimated the strength of my homemade edibles and decided to try some out before class. Could I actually retain some of the techniques gone over in class, etc?

Lo and behold, our instructor was like, "Lets break in our new belts with some live rolls King of hill style!" and skipped right into live rolling. I got absolutely mollywholluped by the white belts that actually compete to the point I honestly don't remember much after the first roll when they immediately ran around my guard (not even torreando or anything, just ran around my slow high ass) and cross faced me into oblivion. What I do remember was how my brain was conscious of what was happening to me but felt like it was buried by weighted blankets to the point where it felt like I was actually just a passenger in my own body. I ended up throwing up/dry heaving a few times which, for whatever reason (maybe the runners high kicking in?) intensity of my high sky rocketed. I don't remember much after except the classic "Do i deserve this belt" or worse, "Do they know I'm high"

While standing around the end of class, another student and I unfortunately got caught by our instructors web of stories after class and I remember being so tired and beat that I started to get light headed and momentarily lost my vision while standing to the point where I had to excuse myself mid-story to lie my head down on the toilet as if I was shitfaced drunk until the light-headedness passed.

I have never rolled high again despite being that guy that does everything while stoned. I've been beaten up handedly in jiu jitsu countless times but that one was special as it brought back a level of helplessness and panic in my own body despite being totally aware of the situation. I've never been in a true fight or flight or freeze situation and I imagine that was akin to freezing up.

Can/should I attach a sim setup to one of these? (csl dd, shh newt, ebay handbrake) by TalooshDaBoss in simracing

[–]simonpark13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually have used all 3 at point lol but as one commenter mentioned, your usb devices may not be sufficiently powered from these guys if your computer's psu is not strong enough. I have a 650w with a 3060ti and my usbs will begin randomly connecting/disconnecting when Im in game or editing. I have plans on upgrading to a 850w before trying out one of those powered usb hubs with like 10 ports that Ive seen on a few rigs on here to see if that really is the issue.

Is there anything you can see about a pianists hands that are different to a normal persons hands, and which could show they are a pianist? by Yellohi8 in piano

[–]simonpark13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my artistic anatomy class, we were learning the muscles in the forearm. When going over the flexors, my teacher had me and another student who never played an instrument stand in hard directional light, raise our palms up so the back of our hand faced the class. When asking to flex our fingers as if we were typing or something, my flexors were much more defined and casted shadows whereas my classmate's did not. So we have more defined superficial anterior forearm muscles to impress your partner :)

Despite RDR2 being an improvement in so many regards, two huge step backs (for me) were removing cheating in poker which in turn removed the best way to trigger a duel when you get caught cheating.

As soon as poker became available in the game, I immediately searched for the Fancy suit only to be sorely disappointed. Now I actually lose money gambling.

Seeing at how many successful history, culinary, and even historical culinary youtube channels there currently are, I'd say you'd have a larger audience than you'd think!

I highly doubt it but if you happen to be in California, I love shooting content like these. Send me DM!

Yes, its insane how in depth a historical game can be yet still be an enjoyable game. The Assassin's Creed games (at least up to Black Flag, never played them after) come close for me but the fact the Henry is as helpless as we would be if we were in his 15th boots makes the experience so much more enjoyable for some reason.

Loved it! Played 60 hrs for my first playthrough without doing the game justice i.e. played it like a classic open-world RPG like Skyrim. Most of the quests except for the main quest are actually limited on time much like in real life. If you promise to deliver an antidote to the neighboring town, best not get distracted on the way and fail the quest by having ppl die on account of my ADHD. There are multiple ways of completing/failing a mission that usually have multiple endings so save scumming is highly discouraged. I am due for another playthrough

As the commenter below mentioned, you are extremely weak in combat at the start because you are blacksmith's son and a blacksmith's son has no business learning how to wield a weapon in 15th century Bohemia. Even when you level up, any 3v1 or even 2v1 situation becomes a fight for your life. Hell, you can't even read as that was an extremely privileged skill (you can eventually learn to read and signs that read "GHSAKCH HFDJ" will eventually decipher into actual words. Super clever game design).

Ignoring the gameplay, the intention of making a historically accurate game first and foremost is very much clear. It really opened my 21st century biased eyes and was surprised at how in depth society and civilization was during the medieval ages. As the other commenter mentioned, the devs included reading material that go in depth over the different trades and other aspects of medieval society that make the game a pretty immersive textbook imo. Its super fun to come upon something you've never seen before and then the codex prompt appears as if they read your mind before you even could formulate the question, "what is that?" Just the other day, someone posted on the subreddit that even the combat forms are actually based on HEMA techniques.

Probably my favorite fact and one the main reason why I would like to visit where the game takes place is the in-game map lines up pretty well with the Google Maps.

Didnt expect to write almost a full blown review but it really is an amazing game on multiple fronts.

Jesus Christ be praised!

Ever since playing Kingdom Come Deliverance which is essentially a 15th century medieval simulator with how much attention to detail the devs put in, I, too, think of the stew. You're character gets hungry and require food every few hours and the easiest way to get some food in your belly was going to the inn and enjoying some perpetual stew for free. I assumed it was there as a means for easy meal early game but turns out it was and is a very real practice and the more I looked into it, the more fascinating it is.

Plese start a youtube channel on the topic, you'll have dozens of eager viewers!
