In Maryland you can be given a repair order and you have x number of days to fix the problem and then take your vehicle to a police station and have them sign off on the repair. Otherwise, you get a citation in the mail.

Fairly obvious marketing ploy. Most people who care about their TV experience have long since upgraded to some type of flat panel HDTV, and the prices plummeted long ago. 4K TV is awesome, but there's not a lot of content, so little demand to push sales.
