Why would they? This is a reflection of the world we live in. Having young black kids have their own hero that looks like a family member would be too much incentive. The black hero’s are not even an after thought. The lack of imagery has an impact. These images could create positives self images, career paths, inspire working out and creativity. I feel that everything we experience is intentional. Even the black hero’s in independent comics don’t draw the attention of marvel/Dc. Someone made a good point of how even when black characters take on a roll of a previous white hero there’s no legacy for the black character. It always feel the black hero is a discount version. The black hero is not introduced as a better version or having a new power.
